Mikaele Ravalawa has been released for the rest of the 2025 season, but remains contracted with the Dragons for 2026.

Under the agreement, the winger will leave the Dragons immediately before returning to the club for the 2026 pre-season.

The Dragons are pleased to announce the signing of David Klemmer for the rest of the 2025 season.

The 31-year-old front-rower has featured in 19 Tests, 14 Origins and 238 first grade games.

“I’ve said publicly we are looking to bolster our middle forward stocks for this season so David is a great pick-up for us,” said Dragons Coach Shane Flanagan.

“He’s a different body shape to what we’ve got in our forward pack currently and also brings some great experience at Test, Origin and club level.”

To get him for this year only is perfect. Hold the spot for a middle rotation next year of JDB, Couchmans, Stewart, LPT, Latu and Liu and if he plays really well, can always give him one more year. That's an unbelievably young pack but better than losing them to other clubs. With Cook, JDB, Su'A and Leilua, enough experienced old hard-heads. Sele is also contracted by I think he'll spend most of his time in reserve grade. Then in the year after next JDB, Cook and possibly Su'A and Leilua will be all gone but by then, Couchmans and Stewart at least will be well into their first grade careers.

Surely Tigers will pay most of Klemmers pay because they need him off their books in order to sign May. Like they are paying Sulllivan’s salary at Souths and we will be paying Rava while he is on loan.

I think he fell out with Benji. Surely we will be paying most or all of his contract.

Thank god for that. Now the club has Klemmer, should only go after another recruit if he is either young and has just started his first grade career or a very good established prop wanting out of his club due some personal reason. Like Frank Molo with us.

Can see why he was extended. Still reckon his future lies in the middle as he is still growing. Last I heard he was 109kg.

That is probably a good weight for him. If possible, I hope he remains about that weight.

Still not right. Times have changed back in my day no other club , well apart from the silvertails would entertain signing a player on contract especially if his reasons for leaving was a member of the support staff calling him names. Fair dinkum, soft.
