jodragon40 jodragon40 can you please delete this for not being in the spirit of the forum? Veteran props not wanted by their current clubs have been so good for us. Sele, Gular, Klemmer why not sign one more for good measure?

I forgot all about Kerr, supposedly a done deal yet he knew nothing about it..

Are there any young middles u can think of that are available? I think thats been the problem, only one im excited about is Mooney, but I question whether we would pay enough to move him.. not to mention he seems to genuinely want to stay there.

As I said, I only ever watched him when Shonkies played us. I also thought he was younger. Obviously with this new info, I wouldn't be in favour of signing him.

Moale is the only other ‘proven’ young prop in the NRL that’s available for 2026 iirc

I’d like us to have a crack at Cooper Bai from the titans, he was only on a train and trial this year and there’s no news of a top 30 deal next year

I like Magele and Josiah Fesolai from the roosters as well, got a stacked forward pack in front of them and not top 30 next year iirc. Their the sort of players I’d be looking at and Daniel Anderson would know plenty about them

Is Jett Liu not good enough? Have 2 Couchmans, LPT, Gular, Sele, Lawrie. Why is the club looking for a prop at all? Need to clear some of the dead wood out first. Then when that's done, look at recruiting. Though if a young prop, 18~20 and very highly regarded became available, that would be a no-brainer to try and sign.

I have a suspicion Anderson wont target young roosters players.. for fear of riling the Nick mafia.. or respect.. but he should have a pretty good idea about young talent.. still a qn of whether we can get them here.. they need to be early 20's atleast (>2yrs in front of our guys).. and we need to get Flanno onboard that he will give these blokes a fair crack in 1st grade.

If Flanno doesn’t get on board with signing younger players and continues to sign 29-32 YO players then that says something about his prehistoric way of thinking, it shows in his tactics.

Anderson will know the situation in terms of who the roosters definitely want to keep and who they are willing to let go. They can’t keep everyone from that SG ball winning side. One of the forwards from that team has already signed with Souths now

I know Mug Fan Mug Fan said something like Ryan Hutchinson is a good distance away from the top 30 yet but he's confirmed train and trial next year. Wasn't Mike Molo given a top contract from a train and trial deal?

I'm always surprised there isn't more hype about Hutchinson. Runs hard, tackles well, offloads and does it for a lot of minutes. Though he must be injured now. Think he's been missing from both lower grade teams for a couple of weeks now.

He’s a decent prospect but athletically he’s just not the same level as the others. If Loko had Hutcho’s desire he’d be one of the best props in the game within the next few years no doubt

Athleticism in the forwards nowadays is paramount, no more plodders like Lawrie and Luciano. They can’t keep up

Jeez what I read on NC site this morning made me want to do one of two things, either to ROFLMAO or burst into tears. You know that prop jo and I have been banging on about for two years, guess who it is we are targeting, or do you guys already know. None other than our reject Josh Kerr. Has our BOD finally flipped!!!

Appears not. Dead set this club is a joke. Whoever we fans fancy for a top 30 spot our BOD dont want them. Jett Liu another example. This guy is no superstar but I love his work ethic, puts in every game I have seen. Is developing some ball skill too. So hey BOD lets get rid of him and recall a has been that we jettisoned three yrs ago. Jeez I hope this is one NC scribe that got his info arse up.

Last year everyone wanted Tamale re-signed. Coach Flanagan had other ideas. Apparently he wasn't worth what Canberra were offering him.

Trey Mooney looks a good prop to go after. Only 23, had his best NRL with the Raiders in '24 which prompted Stuart to extend him, but seems he has not been able to crack Firsts full time with only three '25 games. But he is contracted to '27 so we will have to pay big overs which may deter Anderson from chasing him.
