I don’t know who to support tonight : Brisbane or Grubs. Dislike both clubs. Suppose I will have to go for the Broncos but with the provision that the “Sook” has another poor game.

Flanno is a politician. He covers himself well. If Sione Finau plays blinders from this week, Flanno will say it was because he was held back for so long as he had to prepare for the toughness of first grade. If he plays like sh*t, Flanno will say, "See I was right. He isn't up to first grade." With Latu if he kills it at the Grubs, Flanno will say, "Well, I wanted to keep him. I even gave his management company a baking."

I've said before and I know a lot of people don't like it, but Flanno's recruitment and retention thus far has been f*king terrible. Remember all these juniors like Halangahu and LPT were recruited before Flanno had anything to do with them.

Flanno completely f*ked up with that NSW U19s centre Tamale but I'm going to trust his judgement with Latu for now. Who was he going to have to let go to keep Latu? But he should just say honestly something like, "We have so many forwards about his age or younger. Unfortunately we can't keep them all. Couchmans have been resigned, Stewart and Egan going well in first grade, Halangau and LPT to debut next year or earlier. We decided we couldn't match the money other clubs were willing to pay him."

You are the one who said, "f*ck him". I think he's ok. Just don't agree with the idea he's above criticism. There is plenty to praise him about and plenty to criticism him about. I'm balanced. He gets so much praise around here, he deserves some criticism. He f*cked up with Tamale but I'm hopeful he made the right decision with Latu.

Holmes, Cook, Gutho are good. How old are they and which other clubs were chasing them? He also signed Eisenhuth, RFM and re-signed BMM and the first thing he did was extend Frank Molo, wasn't it? But he did good re-signing Couchmans, Halangahu, LPT. As I said, I'm balanced.

My 2 cents worth is Flanno has done a good job fixing the roster and getting the best out of what he has. But his problem is one player who should never of been recruited and shouldn't be in first grade. If not for that and the injury to Ryan C, I reckon this team with Flanno's coaching would be very hard to beat.

If I read Flanno's comments correctly, then his gripe is that Latu's management never came back to him to give the opportunity to match or better the offer. There was no decision to let him go.

Seems pretty obvious he instructed his management he wants out of the Dragons. I would like to know why but I guess we can only speculate. I hope it was because Flanno low-balled him as a result of not really rating him. Or rating him less than other forwards coming through the grades or already in first grade.
