the only way I think we can get someone like that.. i.e. quality in a position where we will have to beat out competitors... is to go in heavy and pay a good ~100k+ extra.. playing money ball and offering market rate is just not working, I get the longer term logic in theory, but flanno might not even survive that long if we cant supplement into our weaker positions...
No more picking up the players other clubs are trying to get rid of. Have several already.
Seems our trying remains fruitless. Good players just dont wanna know us. Dunno if it is our coach, our culture or something else, but is sad that our once great club has come to this.

Talking about having no big dog/ enforcer. My son is a manager at our local tavern which is actually owned by Nick Politis. On Thursday I was having a quiet one when Jeremy Smith walked in, for those who remember him he still looked good enough to throw on a 1sts jumper, now that is the type of enforcer we need.

Only solution is to pay overs for a couple of players in positions that need strengthening and then rely on the recruitment/retention of good young players. Like what seems to have happened over the past few years.
Why does anyone think we need to recruit more forwards? Re-sign JDB, Liddle, Tsugranis, promote Liu, Halangahu, Tsugranis to compliment 2 Couchmans, Tonga, Stewart, Egan and then we still have Cook, Sele, Su'A, Luch, Gular and Lawrie contracted for next year.Bullemor has decent stats for this season. Got some size about him too. 110kg.

Ask those who create these rumors of us wanting certain players. Yes we have those 17 but none in mid 20s, 5 yrs experience. big, hard hitting bookend with some willingness for second phase play.
