Koloamatangi should be a priority. I always thought he was overrated as a second rower but as a prop, he might turn out to be best in the game. He's 27 now so offer him a mil a year for the next 4 years. If Souffs get Fifita, they'll have him, Murray, Mitchell on more money than anyone at the Dragons.
You may be right RedV01. I hadn't thought of Koloamatangi in terms of a permanent move to prop until you mentioned it. He may well have his best years ahead of him and will come at a more reasonable price compared to Tino. I hope DA thinks seriously about tabling and offer.

'24 we won 11 lost 11, '25 so far we have won 8 lost 14. How is this seen as a pass mark that warrants a one yr let alone a two yr extension for our coach. Yet Titans Des Hasler hasnt done all that much worse with his two yr tenure and he is about to be sacked. Only reason I can see is our club wants stability, with a new CEO and R&R boss coming on board. Pressure is on SF to lift his game in '26.

There are signs he is turning things around. A lot of talk about how he inherited a salary cap way out of shape. I'm of the opinion that if he can find it in him to drop Kyle, the shackles will really come off and he'll be really good. Though I'm still confused by the JDB situation.

I can see that with the amount of forwards we have coming in through our system we had to make room, my worry is did we make the right decision, time will tell I suppose.

If we can't get anyone better, I do think Dayne Laurie would be a quality 1st grader whos prob gettable for 500-600k..... 26 is that age where he has been rock solid for a long time.. puts in effort in D.. always threating in attack..

Meninga mentioned that Campbell offer has been on the table for ages... im not sure hes gonna get too much money than 900k tbh.. granted the 2028/2029 years are a bit different to 2026/2027 pre-broadcast deal. Their price only makes sense if they see him as a 7... I think we would have to be desperate tbh to go over 1mil.. but we need to land 1 livewire 1 or 7..

I think he's similar to Sloan but a bit more consistent & competitive. Would he get a starting spot in our side?

I’ll admit when this initially happened I was ropable and pissed as. But as the dust settled, I understand that we have plenty of young blokes coming through that are 1st grade material.
Couchman x 2
Egan
Stewart
LPT
Tsougranis
Halangahu
Plus a few other youngsters that haven’t debuted yet. They could be something very special in a few years time and the prospect of losing 2 or 3 to keep an ageing player for an extra year or two was too risky

Reckon we keep Klemmer or take the same approach as JDB? We've got Guler, Sua, Kerr, Sele & Luch as the exp fwds.

Don’t get your hopes up, marquee halfbacks are few and far between and when a club has one they lock them up for a LONG time

It’s all about optics when they say that, realistically what gun Halfback would be available for 2026?

I’d like them to stick strong with an Atkinson/LKT halves combo
Yes I agree Mailroomsgi. We just haven't as yet had any opportunity to see which combos would be the best fit until we have Atkinson actually at the club training with the boys and trialling them as needed. Atko/LKT, Atko/KFlanno, Ilias/LKT, Atko/Ilias etc. As you say, who decent would be a reject from their current club that would be available - none I'm guessing?

Just wait until 2026 and see how Atko goes with whomever.

F/R: Luc, Sele, TC, Guler, LPT
2/R: Su’a, RC, Egan, Tsougranis, Halangahu
L: Stewart,Tsougranis, Egan
Cook/Liddle
Lawrie

Good to finally have some quality depth. Hopefully injury gods bless us for once. Silver lining with our injuries this year has allowed us to get games into LPT, Stewart, Egan & now Halangahu. It all adds up, they'll hit off-season/pre-season having 1st hand experience of NRL game play & can train accordingly.
