Players like Cleary and Edwards and a couple of other guys in the Panthers team are very good readers of play in the general scheme of a game. They are quick to see weaknesses and strengths which is what Ivan can work out without any dramas as well. They knew that the left edge of the Bulldogs was fragile today and Alamoti had plenty of tries scored through that side.

A team like the Panthers know how to win because of winning experiences. Many teams don't have that ability and that is why they come a cropper when the crunch hits them hard in finals footy.

We in the 50's and 60's had all that stuff down pat and each year we would do mostly the same things because we knew that it brought success. Different rules now of course but in a way, same principles.

But if you are going to do it, don't be so selective about it. Give everyone who deserves a public bake just that, including Kyle, or don't do it at all. That's the way I see it anyway. I understand giving them a public bake isn't done but I'd like to see more of it personally. But can't be so selective.

We lost Sowie but nice to see more old boys coming on board. I just hope of they mess up and are sacked, they are big enough to admit they messed up.

Nothing confirmed that I could see. Just rumours. If the Dragons were interested, it might have been what Moale's manager wanted for him. At this stage I am thinking that Anderson is giving a lot of thought to who he wants as once you sign someone he has to be the type of player that we need and not just making up the numbers, otherwise those that have been told that are not required from our departing list, some could have been re-signed which they won't be.

I heard it was only ever just a rumour.

Isn't too bad. Then there are a couple like Liu who might force his way into the top 30 as well. Probably a couple more on development contracts.

They do look a tad light on for front row battering. Maybe they are going to put on more muscle and beef and be much bigger next year. Provided they can attack and defend hard and use their lighter frame to run quickly then that might be to their advantage. But we do do need a bigger prop who is reliable and to be up for the hard and tough rumbles.

Next year is a do or die year for Flanno. No more failures in general where there are no injuries to affect the momentum of the team if they are on a winning run. It's winning more than three in a row that has to be the minimum target not win two then lose three - that would catapult us back to the bottom of the pile.

Even though he was extended for 2 more years Dave, I think he will be dead man walking as of Rd 1. If we are anywhere near the bottom of the ladder early I dont think he will see out the season.

The big test will be how they fare in the Gamblers' City of Las Vegas in Nevada of the USA (Useless States of America) Justa. They play the Dogs in Round 1 over there and as the Dogs got soundly beaten by the Panthers in their last game of the year, they will be wanting to have a good start as well in Rd 1 so the match will be a tough one.
