We rly need a 1 and a 7, but we cant be taking up 2 slots next year with more average players..

I do wonder if Kemp is right and were id1ots for not taking Trai Fuller on 400k or whatever for 2yrs.. seems better than most of what we have.. even if hes in nsw cup.. but im sure he would want assurances of playing 1st grade to come down.

I still think we need a 7 though, unless we are confident in O'Neill who is off contract end of year, tbf we havent seen him play a lot of footy..

I dont think Reed is that 80min x 27 Round man... but I mean maybe.. but u always need a 3rd man.. there is LKT but he seems to be a 6 or nothing, which means we have no halfback coverage.

I feel like Fuller would take Sloans spot as the backup fullback.. maybe he could handle wing or ctr.. dunno.. but 2yrs doesnt scare me at all with him and his price.. but maybe could we get an Averillo instead.. i.e. maybe someone who is more of a centre than a fullback.. cause im rly nervous about our centres with Heidke and Buchanan im not sure either will get there.. Heidke due to injuries.

Holmes also apparently was heavily needled last weekend and shouldnt have played.. I still think hes our left ctr.. but failing that hes 1 of our wingers..

precisely right.. someone like that is low risk, low wage, low priority if Reed does come on.. we would have someone like him, even a Sandon Smith or a Savala or a Sexton.. but lets be honest Flanno did not want to sign them.

Where as O'Neill, I dont rly want to play him cause hes still a rookie in the NRL sense.. and struggled under pressure in trials.. id rather just give that time to Reed if were gonna potentially lose games anyway... but.. im not 100% opposed to it either.. just need a competent coach to make the calls.

i would have signed him and he can take Sloans position next year and be the backup to Drinkwater if we got him, also play him off the 6 man bench if required..

Manly fans often say to me that be very happy to give Saab back to us. I think the problem with him would be that he still has a few years to go on his contract, even in the unlikely event that he would want to come back or that we want him.

It would be good to get rid of CT though.

Heres one for the ages. Evidently Gutho has reached out personally to Scott Drinkwater to take his place next season, even tho he still has a year left on his contract. Opens up a number of theories over the veterans future in the RedV..

Averillo is expected to resign with Dolphins, so how about a crack at Shibasaki or a return ticket home for Savelio Tamale.
edit: Seems was given a bum steer on Tamale, extended by the Raiders. His younger full back,outside back team mate Chevy Stewart is off contract. Perhaps someone we could buy cheaply in place of the overpriced Drinkwater...

I think by the end of this season Reed is going to be locked in for the next 10 years. We have 5/8s by the bus load. If Reed is injured (or on rep duty) we'll have to make do with one of those playing halfback.

Some serious talent there! Hammoud is really starting to find his feet in the grades up from SG Ball. If we can muster up a half decent half back for him to play with this weekend, he might have a blinder in NSW Cup. Then the pressure will be on LKT and Atko. Then maybe as early as next year Ah Kee if he stays will be putting pressure on all 3 and then the year after that Rokko Walker!

There is a danger they will go the way of Bud Sullivan and Junior Amone but some key differences in their games which make me think they are not going to fizzle out like those 2 did.
