Maybe Mr McKinnon can try and write an article justifying how much Ponga earns per year at Newcastle and how many games he misses through injury and he’s on a truck load more than the 900 we paid for Drinkwater

I've never heard of #3 and #16.
#18 needs to go and #6 better do better. Much better or he'll be moved on ASAP.

1.25 mil for Ponga isn't that bad. But 1.25 mil for 10 years for Dylan Brown is utterly ridiculous. It will be biting Newcastle for many years to come.

3 is not confirmed, 4 I’m not sure is up for 1st grade, way too early to give him a staring centre role based on a very limited 2026, 18 can probably take a hike and you can add Reed or LKT instead of the big lug. Other than that, looks about right but I’d be happy to keep Suli

ffs I had a feeling it was a bit weird it wasnt announced already.. and we were still having meetings...

Could be the dogs but they have lots of 9/13's.. so could be god knows who I suppose.. but Gus honestly has being running interference on every player we sign.. I think he does it just for his own ego and to make sure the price is forced up.. but in this case a cheap 1yr 9/14, I mean any club could make use of that if they have some cash.

Sorry SMH is reporting it not DT :

On Friday, it emerged the former State of Origin super sub had also attracted longer-term interest from the Tigers and another Sydney club, with meetings scheduled next week.

Watson’s versatility could suit the Tigers, where he could play lock and also provide cover for hooker and co-captain Api Koroisau.

So Tigers & another club? Doggies? Sounds like they are after a longer deal than a year

Watson is all about PNG .. if PNG sign him then he needs a one year deal and that is where we were coming in ..

If other clubs are in the mix for him now with a longer deal then he doesnt need the one year transit lounge deal via us - unless we also jump into the mix to sign him for longer than 12 months.
