100 %, 1000 % !!!!It's just common sense to give Ilias and LKT a chance to work together. But we know Flanno won't do it.

Mate honestly being a old retired ressies coach from many moons ago. I honestly believe our season is not over, especially in this current competition.Great post, how about this, I know its hard for a coach to admit the season is over, but in reality it is. So how about we put Illias back to 7 and LKT at 6, unleash both of them, let them off the chain, tell them they wont get dropped but you want to see what they can do with freedom. Now as for KF a stint in ressies wouldn't hurt and we can rotate Cook, Liddle and KF. We really do need to do something more than what we are doing, every year its the same thing, we are just about half way through the season and we have no settled halves pairing, do something, anything to shake things up.

I dont know Jo I've been a Dragons fan for a while now and have been let down on many an occasion over the last 15 years, just look at last year for a major cock up and embarrassment. We even blamed the suspension of KF for our woes and yet here we are the very next season calling for his head on a platter. The back end of our draw , its pretty tough, I just cant see us winning anymore than a couple of games and that would make less than 10 for the year, my opinion is it cant get much worse so give everybody a run that deserves a run and maybe we will have that platform for next year, but I also agree, you never know stranger things have happened.Mate honestly being a old retired ressies coach from many moons ago. We are currently 13th on 8 points after 10 rounds. The Sea Eagles are 8th on 10 points. If we can string a few wins together we can still be in the running for that 8th spot.
In regards to your options putting on my old dusty coaches hat I can't see the coach axing his son out of the top 17. I personally hope young Illias can regain his confidence with a few games in ressies under his belt. Confidence is a wonderful thing.
I believe we have found at least 1 big bodied bookend in LPT. A wonderful 1st game, 30 mins, 12 runs, 111m, 49 p.c mtrs, 18 tackles, 0 missed.
If we can get our engine room working off those metres and squeeze another 10 minutes out of him we may be able to lay the platform on a consistent basis to give our play makers and backs the room to execute our attacking structures which have been impressive this season.
Agree we need to start winning in the next few weeks. Origin may also help usI dont know Jo I've been a Dragons fan for a while now and have been let down on many an occasion over the last 15 years, just look at last year for a major cock up and embarrassment. Was hoping for Sele as well but can't get them all, you never know though might be some late changes as the week progresses. Big Loko has earned his spot and was always keeping it after Flanno backed him in the presser as well, hope he gets a good long stint. As I indicated on another post/forum. I was hoping that JDB would take Couchmans spot, hoped now Tonga has made it he stays so tick tick, as for BL I thought perhaps Sele before him but can't get them all right.
Agree I was extremely impressed and a bit surprised by his effort. As long as he stay's injury free he really should lock down a run on bookend spot in 26 and for many years to come. Was hoping for Sele as well but can't get them all, you never know though might be some late changes as the week progresses. I agree, I do note though that they also have a big bench. If a back was to be injured early in the game you would suggest Paix would come on. They really have no cover for that scenario.Probably the best lineup we could put out all things considered, Lawson/Sloan is a toss up but debuting Lawson against the broncos at Suncorp would be tough
Just seen the broncos lineup, what a side that is. Reynolds/Mam as a halves combo and Haas/Carrigan as a middles combo is phenomenal
Could be a proper welcome to the NRL game for our young guys but let’s see how it unfolds, starting to get very desperate with a 3-6 record
A win could turn the season around heading into the bye and then back at home against Newcastle the following week
Yes agree Sele would be underdone. Lawrie makes sense and you know he will give it his all. Time will tell if it's going to be good enoughI think we've been putting off the Lawson (or Finau) change for far too long, there is no perfect time, Lawson is plenty quick also.. were just gonna have to wear his errors though, hes really green.. but its not like Sloan or Allan werent making mistakes already.. atleast Lawson will compete for everything.
Oh and I think Lawrie is better placed fitness wise to do longer minutes than Sele, if it was just an impact role needed sure, but I think we will need more for the next 3 weeks or so until Toby returns.
Hes got a better kicking game and is a better player for sure. Carrying an injury, and has an underdone halves partner. Realistically there should be a game plan to limit his time and movement. That depends entirely upon our engine room.Lets just put this into a bit of perspective, Reynolds vs KF in game management, totally laughable !!! I'm sure Reynolds would have allowed us to lose 3 games by a point or so, highly unlikely. He schooled Hunt several times, he'll give KF an absolute bath.
Make him do plenty of tacklingHes got a better kicking game and is a better player for sure. Carrying an injury, and has an underdone halves partner. Realistically there should be a game plan to limit his time and movement. That depends entirely upon our engine room.
It's up to Cook and the halves to get him to make one on one tackles all night. LKT can take Reynolds on in defence himself.Make him do plenty of tackling
Make him do plenty of tackling
Get big LOKO to run at him all game !!Make him do plenty of tackling
Even better, Hamish Stewart. He's a year ahead of Loko in his development.Get big LOKO to run at him all game !!
As much as I would like this to happen, Reynolds is too good to allow that all game, he is one the top halfbacks in the world, you dont get to be that good without having a bit of shrewdness about you and making teams look silly when they try the tough stuff. Anyway I hope we have a gameplan other than just trying to smash him.Even better, Hamish Stewart. He's a year ahead of Loko in his development.
Exactly your edge forward should be running right at himMake him do plenty of tackling
