I agree but 3 years gives us a while to fInd a suitable replacment and he seems to be at the top of his game now.
Hope he stays but it's a results driven business. If Flanno pushes him out and the team doesn't improve, it's his job on the line. As is he can probably pull strings for Kyle to get a job in the game off the field. If he is sacked, that won't be the case.
Think your reading into it way to much to be honest, it's one game and there were a lot of contributing factors. In my opinion it's just good coaching, if we have a couple more of those games where the likes of Klem/Lawrie/RFM whoever of those old heads that typically play less minutes are having a really good game and we're in front with bugger all pressure on us, it's a prime opportunity to rest the guys like JDB who bust there arse on big minutes every week. Good player management that helps reduce injury risk etc. If it was week in week out sure, but that's not been the case and it's one of the only games in recent memory I felt very comfortable from early on that we were in control of and it's good to use that to our players benefit. Hopefully Klem has another couple of those games in him this season.
With regards to Liddle I think if he was gonna go he would've taken the Manly deal, which we shouldve heard about by now. I'd be very, very surprised (and very sad) if he doesn't extend given those factors, I'd love to see him take the old head role over from Cookie and combining with a young gun recruit for 2027.
I hope I’m very wrong regarding Liddle. He’s played 1 game 50+ mins, 2 games 40+ mins. Not exactly a lot of game time for a player of his calibre and I could see why he would be frustrated if it continues

Absolutely thats the way I see it. I'm sure both will get good minutes against a Dolphins team fresh off a bye, which is not necessarily a bad thing for us.

Not good enough for a player like him who usually changes the momentum attack wise for the team when he’s on the field. Flanno needs to find a way to get him on the field more.

He missed most of the pre-season so I can understand the first few weeks but this surprised me. I didn't realise he was getting so few minutes. Wins against quality teams, Manly and Broncos shows he probably should be getting at least 50 minutes.

So this is my view wearing my very old coaches cap. It is unfortunate that Liddle is 2nd behind Cook, I said that after we signed Cook.
However as a result Liddle is now considered in the top echelon of impact bench players in this particular competition.
The key to having impact players is when to introduce them into the game. I am sure that the premiership winning coach knows what he is doing. You don't get to coach 1sts or win a comp by second guessing yourself as a coach.
I would be extremely surprised if the coach hasn't personally spoken to his bench players and telling them what their roles would be and how many minutes they are going to be playing in each game.

The RL world is a weird monster. I would suggest if another club said to Liddle you will be our starting hooker he may well just leave especially if money is a big consideration.

Can I just put this out there re Liddle. I'm sure I read it in another thread but search as I might, can't locate the specific comment. It was a coup of weeks ago.
Flanno isn't just letting Liddle go. He has a very promising young hooker lined up to replace him.
It would be a good move. Have this young hooker be an understudy to Cook for a year and then take over. Don't ask me who it is because I don't know but I got the info from here from a reliable source. This is what makes perfect sense regarding Liddle.

Keeping things in the appropriate thread would be helpful. I know this very post is off topic.
It would be good (signing a gun hooker) but on topic, I hope Liddle gets more minutes tonight because it seems to me the team is better when he's on the field. Though I'm sure Flanno doesn't want to lose. He's obviously privy to info I'm not. Their hooker, Benji's brother is similar to Liddle. Not the most solidly built hooker. Must be especially hard to play in the middle more than 50-60 min but fast when he runs out of dummy half.

So in the games Liddle has played 31min or less we have won 3 and lost 2
In the games 35min plus we have won 2 and lost 4
Maybe Flano knows what he is doing...
