Round 20 v North Queensland

SGI NSW Cup
Our coach to be sacked by season end according to some league pundits who say once they 'start moving the deckchairs on the Titanic' with our sacking of two of his assistants.. it is not that long before the captain goes down with his ship.

A good coach would have pulled him aside several weeks or months ago and said something like, "you are turning into a fat ****. Better not put any more weight on or you'll be losing it in the NSW Cup."
Coach told him to put on weight to play in the forwards. So he stopped training and started eating 3 meals a day at McDonalds.

Wanted to add this under the players. coach -3. Pretty much what he has been since joining us. 17 wins 44 losses?

Between 60-65min point we had chances to get back into the contest has it not been for our sloppy ball play. Such as the skipper's forward pass when six points begging. Cowboys superior class and youthful enthusiasm plus some brittle defense from (the coach knows who they were), in the last 15 blew us away.

Anyone remember yesterday, early on Ben Hunt put in a grubber and Tariq Sims was the one chasing it? He knocked on which wasn't really his fault. The ball just wouldn't sit up for him. Phillip Ronald Gould commented on how it was the right idea but it looked like they hadn't trained for it during the week because they needed someone faster chasing through after the ball.

If you think about it, from yesterdays starting team the fastest players were probably:
  1. Lomax
  2. Amone
  3. Feagai
  4. Sims
No.3 and No.4 must be a really close.

I was not aware ZT covered the game too. Thanks for that info.

Quite a few of these stats differ from Fox which I have been using.
This is even better. Tackle Efficiency is probably the most important. Sometimes missed tackles, ineffective tackles, simply falling off a player already held to get back into the line, getting run around because he isn't fast enough (first try yesterday) or simply not even trying (Bird when NAS scored late in the Melbourne game) can make the stats misleading.

It is. We want him to be replicating as often as poss what he did in Manly game. 20 with one missed.
It shows he can do it. I mean, he has the ability. With the right players around him, right coaching staff behind and the right motivation, he should be fine. At least his defence should. He needs to do better in attack as well. His kicking is usually pretty good but I think the coach has insisted Hunt must do it when possible.

In what respect. With ball in hand or running. His play making is improving. Every game he comes up with at least one good pass that puts the receiver outside his man. Did it for Lomax yesterday when he broke the line and was close to scoring. He has a neat short kicking game and we all know he is a natural runner with the ball.

Like you say he will be a good player with the the correct guidance. We must be patient with him as IMO he and his mate Sloan are the two most promising of our junior backs.

Both.

Agree but needs to improve more and faster.

As above.

Yes. He was last year. Looked like he was set to dominate this year. Well, maybe not dominate but to be much, much better than he has been.
