It comes down to whether the team is genuinely that short on talent, or whether the coaching isn’t at the required standard. From a lay perspective, I’d say the players aren’t the main constraint.

The players are the main constraint. Our spine isn't good enough. Gutho is past it. He lacked X factor for a fullback at Parra and has got worse. Acko isn't a halfback and his halves partners are not first grade material. Put Walsh and and Cleary in our team and we would have won numerous games this year. Suli also isn't a good enough centre, he should be playing edge backrow. Our wingers who have been picked all year, are not first grade stardard either. Lawrie isn't first grade standard and shouldn't be playing first grade. Guler is a B grade bench player.

I would rather Talau be given the top job than Arthur, but the mail is Dean Young will be the one to take the top job, if Flanno is sacked.

No, no, no, no, no! Would be much worse. No, no, no, no, no. To me bring in Talau as the interim and hire Arthur from 2027 onwards would be my preference. I bet we do better with both of them.

Look in my Club Culture post today I said this -
"This example I use to show that players have to learn not to give up but to find more in themselves to keep fighting and never give an inch and this is what a good coach should be imparting on his players. Defend for each other and attack to get the upper hand and think all of the time of ways to do these things and not just go through the motions." None of this happened today.

People are starting to question all the hype that went on in the pre-season and now what gets dished up in the first 5 rounds. Surely its embarrassing for the Dragons not to do something. They delayed it last week and look at what they got this week.

The hype of how fit we looked, and all the strength and conditioning, not to mention the new attitude that was going through the club. Atkinson talking it up at training etc, our juniors that were going to kill it, and here we are 0 - 5.

I think Sloan would be the fastest out of the first 3 but don't know about Fale and Tu as not seen much of them because we can't do long breaks. But comparing our fastest against other teams, we would have the slowest I'd say.

I have said all year. I would have picked Reed at halfback and Acko 5/8. That alone could have made a diference.

Even though Leilua has been one of our best playing edge backrow, I would have had Leilua at prop all year. I think Leilua would make a good prop in today's game.

Lawrie shouldn't even be considered for first grade. I have been saying that for 8 years or more.

I have been saying for years that Suli is an edge backrower.

We have not had the cattle all decade. There is a reason so many coaches have knocked us back this decade. They were smart enough not to take the job, when it was offered to them.

I have also stated many times what one of our biggest problems is, but am not allowed to discuss it on this forum anymore, because it is "unpopular". lol I don't expect anything to change this year, no matter who our coach is either. We have not been an attractive destination for players since 2012.

Willie Talau may be a drawcard for Polynesian players and all the reports I hear about him coaching NSW Cup are positive. At least he has experience coaching teams, rather than just being an assistant coach.

It has been a "shit show" since 2012, with 2018 being the only exception.

Changing the coach is just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Most coaches don't even want the job either.

Slone is a touch footy player. He would be good too.

Bringing in Reed into this current team now can only spell danger for the kid

He was our best player in the Charity Shield. With a genuine halfback, that would allow Acko to play his natural position in 5/8. We would look a different team with Reed halfback and Acko 5/8. We still need props, wingers, a fullback and centre as well.
