Sack Flanno….

yeah but I mean his manager obviously would have had plenty of chats already to other clubs... hes a very sellable product too.
Yep agree Rev, but as Mug said his manager also threw him under the bus. It really would be very detrimental for Loko to be sticking it to Flanno just to find out they have been fielding offers from somewhere else and using Flanno as an excuse. I would be demanding the NRL get involved if that was the case.

It's also given Anasta a chance to kick off on Ilias again, even though the situations are very different. But I dont care anymore, we are all united in wanting Flanno out the door... just hope whoever comes in isn't just a v2.0 of the same thing.
It’ll never happen but I wish someone would just say Braith give it up, he was shithouse for most of the season in Reggie’s and had like 2 great games out of 20

If there was a POTY ranking for the team he’d have been like 9th

Which ever way you want to look at this, by not dealing privately, how is Loko being looked at now. I think his manager also mentioned that Loko wasn't being developed or coached and didn't know what he was supposed to do. How does that statement paint him in Willie Talau's eyes. The whole lot is really poor form from everyone involved. Where else have you seen this happen.

Irrespective of what Flanno did its poor form by Rodgers and Clifton, they basically threw Loko under the bus.

It's a managers job to do what's best for his client but also to protect young players.
They should never of released or discussed Lokos concerns.

It now paints him in a bad light at the club and possibly future clubs.
Should of stuck with the tried and tested home sick, family interest line.

Plus RSM has TPH and Hutcho and we were looking at extending Hutcho does this hurt those talks.

Edit I spoke too soon.

As you said, given the situation, the recruitment and team selections, I'd have expected news about much more butting of heads and a much diminished relationship between the two.
Flanno has spoken a few times about the glowing appraisal Deano has of KF's game. Because Flanno admits he can't judge himself so relies on Deano. Deano should have said he belongs on the bench as a back up hooker/utility in reserve grade. It probably would have brought about his sacking as an assistant but that would have been far better for his career than what has now transpired.

He's not allowed to have offers from anywhere
Correct, but clubs can speak to manager and say we are interested in Loko when he comes off contract, we have a pathway set out for him etc etc etc as long as money isnt spoken about (yeah right) and all conversations have to be documented between agents and clubs, would actually love to know if any of them do that...

I like the Hutcho signing.. and I like the timing.. 2027 Dev, 2028 Top 30 (I assume).. far more normal timing than what we've been trying to do with the big 3... rushing them through as teenagers....

The slow burn that went into Jackson Ford is a good example.. evidence that the thinner frame (but tough) can really star in the modern game, but you do need to keep them humble/patient in those years while they grow and develop.. there are a tough few years there especially if they are in first grade (as we remember with Ford).

What I like about Hutcho is hes way more exciting than Ford imo, hes very very unique.. his swerving runs are totally not what defensive lines are used too.. in time he might really be a real weapon for us... I did see him do a ridiculous behind the back flick earlier in the year also, im not sure if thats gonna be an ongoing part of his game.. but the fact that he pulled it off is a sign he has some skills too ;-)

I've thought and said for a while I think he's criminally underrated. Runs hard, tackles hard, offloads and passes before line, has swerve in his run, isn't slow for a prop and does it all for a lot of minutes.

It has always been that a player no matter playing in what position can stand out if he is able to do the unexpected in his skillset. I.E. an edge backrower who has a short kicking game.

If you cant read the previous item I have reprinted it for you all here.

Disillusioned Dragons fans are planning a mass protest at a game next month.

More than 2000 supporters have already indicated they intend to take part in the peaceful protest at Kogarah when the Dragons meet the Warriors on May 23.

They are set to demand changes right through the club but specifically with the management following years of disappointment on and off the field.

The rally has been organised on social media with a SAVE OUR SAINTS PROTEST Instagram channel attracting plenty of attention from supporters.

We aren't turning on the players, we are just fed up with corporate f--ks ruining this once-great club," a spokesman for the organisers said.

"We've had enough and this new generation of passionate St George fans are here to reclaim our Saints!"

Another fan vented his frustration in the channel.

For years our club has been in mediocrity. One of the proudest clubs with one of the richest histories in the league has faded to a rubble of its former self," he said.

"Whilst the current coaching situation is poor, the issues run way deeper than that. Our board has been divided since day one of the club and our director of football has overseen four different coaches and only ONE finals run in 2018."

The group is still discussing what form the protest will take, but are vowing to be peaceful and respectful.
