The Storm want him, tells me he is worth keeping, so worth buying for us. If not a mill, pay overs for what Storm bids. The other guy is Tyran Wishart who evidently we have been talking to. He is in the same boat as Pezet, so we have to pry him away from the Storm with an enticing offer. With him it is a return to his roots.The only other option is keep Hunt, you want that. If we snare a promising half then BOD will be less reluctant about letting Hunt return home.

Can we rely on hope. We need a long term half and need to start blooding him now. Jeez surely we can find one better than Hunt ever was. Take away his consistent kicking game and sometimes running game and he has been an abject failure for us, a waste of millions of bucks.

Disagree. Flanno has gone way, way overboard with his Dads Army recruitment. I don't think badly of any of our over 30s or soon to be over 30s. Even RFM goes ok from time to time. But we have too many of them. If Hunt goes that will be about right. A bit on the Dads Army side but not too much. Molo, JDB, Cook, Holmes all in the best 17 and all over 30. Flanno will want to pick RFM as well. If Ryan Couchman sneezes, he'll be dropped back to ressies but RFM can afford 3 or 4 shockers before being dropped.

He'll pick his best 17, he has to win so he can get a contract extension. Gutherson would be an upgrade on Sloan & he'll help the other youngsters in the team. I would be surprised to see the likes of RFM & Eisenhuth playing many games. Both Gutho & Cook are still effective NRL quality players.

I think on a consistent bases, Gutherson might be better than Sloan next year. But not for more than next year. That is the problem. No forward thinking. Every coach trying to "make the finals" next year without thinking or caring about 3 or 4 years into the future.

What youngsters in the team? If Gutherson is signed and Hunt stays around, half the team will be over 30.

It's a good point. Ryles is busy regenerating the Eels roster by getting rid of the proven veterans who are definitely slowing down while Flanno is busy organising a retirement village.

Have to say Hunt was out of line with what he suggested about his halves partner but no one except Flanno has said what he suggested was false. No doubt that is what other members of the team are saying behind closed doors. But Flanno won't see it. He thinks the other half is one of the best players in the competition. Deano is scared to speak out because it will lead to a fall-out between him and Flanno. Carr won't say it for fear of being sacked. Someone from above needs to intervene.

Unless something happens no one can see coming, Kyle will be halfback next year. I can't see why it wouldn't be his best position. Adam Reynolds doesn't have a running game to speak of either. If he's confident about barking orders which he probably wasn't with Hunt doing that. He's never going to be an Origin halfback but he might go ok provided LKT or another 5/8 with a running game is recruited.

Flanno needs to forget about Gutho and JAC and concentrate on poaching Tyrone Munro if he becomes available in a few days, which is looking likely.

But Reynolds has one of the best, if not the best kicking game in the competition. Unfortunately Kyle's kicking game isn't up to scratch.

Not against him being halfback but in that case, would be huge pressure on LKT to get the attack going. But if we recruit someone like Douhi, he will want 3 years so does that mean keeping LKT on the backburner for another 3 years? Good luck with that. Only solution is to recruit someone to play halfback for the next couple of years. How about Jackson Hastings?
