ANZAC Day v Roosters

The only thing I personally don't like about that interview is the way he refers to the new coach by 1st name.

I know Im old but nobody I ever coached would refer to me as Joe, nor did I ever when I played refer to any coach by his first name.

Its just a little thing that I will probably cop a ribbing from a few of you about but its just the way I was brought up.

Anyway I'll be watching our 7 make his 1st grade debut and that's always an exciting time.
Unless we were playing for the school team, we always called our coaches by their first name.

Ai injured + on his wrong side + up against latrell + probably miserable under flanno = disaster!

I know a lot of players can change sides easy, I mean Suli seems about the same.... but in my granted uneducated opinion.. u have split seconds to make calls on what your opponent(s) are doing in front of you, and what your teammates are doing.. what your body does is muscle-memory.. you dont get to sit and reflect u just do.. and u get it slightly wrong and players that good will burn you.. thats why im so cranky about Flanno moving Val and keeping him there for most of the season.. not only the defensive issues, but hes also the best attacking weapon we had.. again muscle memory.. on the left.. hes an older player too, been doing it his whole career.

Still in disbelief not 1 media outlet has even mentioned this in their pulling apart of his performances.

Val will kill it, I was hoping for Kade to be paired with Ryan to look after him.. they could also tag team Luciano and Egan potentially.. I guess ultimately disrupting Atkinson is not a good idea, Kade seems more comfortable on the right but he does play both sides.
I would imagine as most teams do that the halves swap around at different parts of the game, good luck to them anyway, I'm keen to see some straight line running by them, lets hope the forwards can set a good platform for the both of them.

Penrith players have spoken about the importance of muscle memory in terms of their physical performances.

It’s a very interesting aspect of the game as is reaction.

Before his injury, Cleary threw himself on every loose ball he could. Just became instinctual. He always took ownership of the opportunity. Then when he came back, had to train himself to be more risk averse. Understand he couldn’t do it all.

If he can impart some of his lust for the game, he will be a very successful coach.

I just wonder the extent to which the dragons can pick up this magic.

Hopefully, Flanno was a factor in retarding the desire and everyone wants to cut loose.

The bounce back factor too. If Foz can instill footy virtue, surely…

Foz mainly changed the way Manly attack, he straightened and simplified their attack. I hope our attack improves too.

Of course we want him to. Get in front of the cameras, say the right things, make people excited to support the Dragons again.
He has certainly achieved that, RedV01 RedV01. Following a tough start to the season that many supporters are trying to put behind them, the attention has now turned to a twenty‑year‑old we all want to see succeed, and above all, remain safe.

Didn't happen in my day. Familiarity to such a level is not good in my books, make taking action, discipline to name two much harder in my view.

There was a level of respect but I was brought up in a military and paramilitary background so perhaps that why.
I think it depends, I call my bosses by their first names.

I went to a friends house once, I was probably about 14 and the dad and two casually dressed mates were pouring over a large map in the dining room.

I remember it because they looked totally enthralled with what they were doing.

Turns out they were all soldiers working on something or other.

It left a good impression on me. No uniforms or anything like that.

As I indicated I have a military and paramilitary upbringing and it was just a sign of respect. I know when I played and coached I never unless invited to do so used their Christian names. Times change

What does the traditional Anzac Day match really mean to me.

It reminds me what my dad, his family and his mates went through in WW2 so that we can live with the freedom as we do. So that we are free to actually watch a game of footy.

A time of reflection to honour those who selflessly gave their lives in all wars. A very solemn day. I march wearing my dads medals then don the red and white colours and watch the game.

Win, lose or draw its not really about the game its about remembering those who allow us to watch the game.

Lest We Forget .
