I hope he stops picking Kerr

i dont mind Kerr or Guler .. happy for 1 to be there ..

I hope now with him signed and hopefully the twins as well he adjusts game time a little in favour of Loko/Jake who we need to lock down as well.

Having one older experienced forward in the playing squad is not the worst thing - it was only 9 minutes.

Me and you both brother, I hate this decision but we have to cop it now no point sooking or it’s going to be a cesspit here and everywhere online

The young guys seem to like young so hopefully it’s the decision which kickstarts a few more extensions

Loko’s been impressive of late, looked lethargic and slow when he first started out in NRL but the last few weeks he looks a powerhouse

Stewart and the couchmans elite, Egan safe as houses, the next one is developing Halangahu to fulfill his potential and find a defined role for him rather than being a victim of versatility and never nailing down a position and adjusted his body weight for it etc.

The positive outlook is the roster in ‘27 is significantly better than every dragons season the last few years til 2018, and there is a young core to build around rather than 29-30 YO vets who have 2-3 years of football in them

Fingers crossed Young proves himself to be a quality Head Coach and 12 months from now we’re firmly in the top 8
Best to get with it and support Deano now. Many of us and on other forums moaning about if he will or not get the job. Once it is confirmed on the Dragons website there is nothing anyone of us can do about it. The Club as far as I am concerned does owe us fans and members some info on why he was selected and possibly this will be in the confirmation in the Dragons website possibly later today.

With an improved roster and the young ones already playing and others coming through the system for 2027, Young "should" be in a better position than what he had when he took over from Flanno. It is definitely something that I am really looking forward to. No other coach since Bennett has made us look like a threat in every game. I hope that Dean brings that threat back for us. Remember young = Young or this -

Just saw the posting that the appointment has been confirmed. All they say is that they undertook a thorough selection process - hhmmm!!
“The Board understands the significance of this appointment and all that comes with it. Tim and our leadership team have undertaken a thorough selection process, and the Board is confident in, and supportive of, that process and the outcome,".

In other words basically not really doing their due diligence. But the decision has been made and the Board has to live with it and cop the blame if it turns out shit.

Lets be honest, everyone knows its a bit of nepotism blah blah, but factually, He was in the running for the Knights job, he probably wouldve got the cowboys job if they sacked Payten, was AC of NSW & Tonga, legend of the club, he was one of probably 3 in the NRL that were next in line for a coaching job anywhere.

I wish him all the best, he has no excuses next year as the squad assembled is the best we have had in years. I truly believe we have all the staff in the right place for him to succeed, new COE, great players, just need to nail the assistant coaches. I'm not opposed to Trent Barret or Hornby think they would both be great.

Lets not bitch and moan theres no point, lets just pray for all the young forwards to re-sign and then let the good times roll.

Sometimes I can't but bitch and moan. At least for a few days.

A friendly reminder that one of the worst games I've ever seen, the loss to Canberra, was only 3 weeks ago.

I'm not convinced either narrative is true.. I have no doubt both clubs would have met with Dean if looking for a new coach (most responsible clubs would do their diligence).. and thank f*** for Newcastle's sake they went with Holbrook.... but the positive media spin that has followed Dean these last few years.. I dunno how much truth is in it.. as evidence.... these last few months and our coach selection process with Dean, Hornby and then Barrett.. genuinely its all been made-up the entire time.. the media (all of them) genuinely had no idea when/how/who.. none of it...... even yesterday there was an article in the tele that Hornby was favourite.. ffs...

Really? Knights and Cowboys realistically nobody else actually hired him and with his resume and his win ratio whilst interim coach being about 20% which hasn't improved whilst with us.

How does the board possibly say he was the best available? I have coached more wins than he has albeit only in juniors and ressies.

I should have dusted off my accreditations and thrown my hat into the ring. I don't begrudge anyone obtaining a promotion as long as it was on a level playing field. Which I don't believe this was.

Anyway I hope he is a success for our clubs sake and the sake of our long suffering loyal supporters

He was always getting the job , they were waiting for Flanno to fail as he did and bingo he got the gig ...... They are soooo predictable .........

As much as I didn't want Deano as coach because i dont believe he has proven anything to warrant the job but who else of note put his hand up for this gig.

I believe Dean has now the chance to dig us out of this hole with next year's recruits and great young forwards with K.Reed also in there and hopefully a couple of very good outside backs to join us.

Let's support him and club for remainder of this year and look forward to next year.
