Really this has become a big problem , yes Kyle tries hard but not a player that will win a game for you , and not a 7 .......... This would have to be a problem amongst players , so this is all on Flanno Coach ......... This will be his downfall ........

However, Crawley believes that Flanagan’s continued insistence on selecting his son at halfback is “doing the club damage” as the veteran journalist said it could be sending potential free agent targets a poor message.

“There’s another layer to that too – another layer to the story in the fact the Dragons senior management has come out in recent weeks and said they’re chasing a top line number 7,” Crawley said.

“Well, you’d have to question of the young guys coming through would you want to send a young 7 to the Dragons knowing that there’s every chance Kyle stays at 7? They’ve shown no trust in the bloke they bought last year to play 7.

This! I know Ben Hunt isn't popular here. Not with me either. But his comments about Gutho coming to club to play 5/8 (in place of Kyle) shows his then teammates are talking about it. Confirming what Danny Weidler reported a few weeks ago. Though I'd go further. Not only a potential halfback would be turned off but any player.

Shame. I continue to believe he might have gone ok in the position he was apparently recruited for. But not now. This has gone on too long and there's now too much noise, too much pressure. In my view anyway.

And it's finally been mentioned in Flanno's last word, the "we can still make it mathematically" !!!! For at least a dozen years I've heard this, I'm actually sick of hearing it. I would much rather hear, we have blown another season, we've let the club and our supporters down again, we are a struggling rabble !!!

Kyle had one of his best games today. Defence was excellent. LKT continues to get better. Even that try commentators blamed him for...... I thought it was equally the fault of the players defending inside of him. It looked like Fogerty had the opportunity to run himself and score until LKT jammed in. In my view anyway.

No, but after years of underperformance and mediocrity, where wins are few and far between, some of us take the opportunity to enjoy the sensation and applaude the grit and determination of our team snagging a win, by whatever means and especially against the ladder leaders. Plenty of time for negativity after the next loss.

Doesn't anyone else want to know WTF is going on? The just extended head coach said if one player isn't good enough to play in the halves, he will find another spot in the team for him. WHAT?

I’m tired of the Flanagan family discourse but it is funny that Kyle is allowed to be repositioned. If it was any other player they’d be moved on.

Perfect example is Ilias, similar level of player to Kyle but he’s getting punted and Kyle is getting ‘transitioned’ to hooker or lock.

Just something we’ll have to cop while Shane is coach, he can remove the chat by winning games and no one will give a f*ck

Exactly! It's astonishing!

Though there is no way Kyle is transitioning to lock. Has he ever broken a tackle in his career?

I wasn't even on Kyle's or Flanno's case until Flanno implored people to "ask other coaches" about how good Kyle is. Like "rival" coaches.

I think Kyle is a cheap hard working player can we make use of somewhere in the 30.. but I do hope we are open to him playing reserve grade if the roster is good enough to put him there... which I think it will be if everyone is fit and Atkinson let alone a new 'marquee' 7 is on board. From reserve grade he gives us some cover for 6/7/9/14, maybe even 13.. thats not bad for a 400k player.

The good thing about him being Shanes son also is he will do whatever he is told without a drama, he doesnt need big coin.. and his effort level is as good as anyone if not the best in squad.. but there is no way he can play 14 in front of Liddle or Cook for example.. so lets see.

Ilias although similar 'on field' is a very different proposition and really there is no tie between him and us as a club.. he feels like a mercenary, and I feel like he is a bit of a loose cannon with the way he plays.. compounded by Anasta as his manager.. rly keen to cut ties which im sure he will be also.. still cant help but wonder what would have went down if we had signed Douiehi last year as a 7... sliding doors but I wonder..

DUH, really, so why in two years 'esteemed' coach have you been unable to bring em here. Look at the list of players that thumbed their noses at our offers then you and Walsford can burst into tears.

I think Flanno will be good if someone from above, like Watsford, orders Kyle be shipped off elsewhere. Until that happens, Flanno and the team will continue to struggle because as Flanno has just confirmed again, Kyle comes before the team.
