Lets everyone relax and just wait and see. I remember Mug Fan said not to believe a thing Flanno says publicly. But I'm still shaking my head over him saying LKT had an indifferent season. Why single LKT out like that? I don't understand at all.

No relaxing. He is turning the club into a laughing stock. Now his own little fiefdom to serve the interests of his family. I can't understand how any Dragons fan isn't blowing up deluxe!
I'll tell you exactly why. He sees LKT as the primary threat to Kyle's place in the team and wants him to walk out. Flanno can then continue picking Kyle and say, there is no one else because LKT walked out.

I usually agree with you but not on this. I'm sure lots of or all players get constructive criticism away from the media but for LKT to be singled out like that...... to quote Crawley on NRL 360, "there is something going on." I can't pretend it isn't going on after this.

As in the name Kyle Flanagan? I don't know about
jodragon40 but I certainly have no issue with anyone talking about him. The halves last year were very ordinary and he played every game...... So there's that. Even though IMO Ilias was even worse. It's just people were talking about it on every thread so I thought this thread would be useful.

I've been saying for a while. I think it will come down to the CEO ordering Flanno to drop Kyle or the new coach, starting this Wednesday (after the team is named on Tuesday afternoon) will. CEO specifically said Kyle was only a temporary measure due to Hunt walking out, Atkinson will be halfback next year and Kyle was supposed to be a #14. Flanno didn't exactly contradict the CEO but all but did by saying Atkinson would be halfback and "Kyle will be on the other side".
Since when has it become a thing for the halfback to only play on one side?

Unfortunately, I think this right. At least to start the year. If after 6 rounds we are at or close to the bottom of the ladder, there might be changes in the spine including Kyle. If LKT is playing well in reserve grade. If we are around the middle of the table, will have to wait until after Origin. If we are near the top of the table after 6 rounds, only injury will prevent Kyle being in the halves all year.

If LKT or Kade Reed play very well they will be selected.
Our CEO stated clearly that KF was signed as a 14.
I would love to know whether SF sees LKT as a 7 or a 6.
If so, KF may start the season at 7. Otherwise LKT starts at 7 and KF helps develop Kade Reed in KOE Cup.

I don't think Reed can play in early part of the season. He's not top 30 until 2027.

While I’d like to see LKT play first grade, Reggie’s will be a very good watch with a halves combo of LKT/Reed.

I can only hope Flanno said that spur of the moment, not thought through. Or that Deano with the backing of the CEO has laid down the law. I very much doubt Ennis will challenge Flanno on it.

He's a legs tackler. Better than missing tackles but doubt he tackles well enough to make it as a hooker.
Can't fault his effort. Unfortunately that alone isn't enough. Blocka is in the same boat. Luch is the opposite.

That's true. Same could be said for Ilias and LKT but somehow coach seems to think otherwise.

There was the one game early in the season. Might have been against Gold Coast. I can't remember now. But the forwards were clearly ascendant. From memory 3 or 4 of them ran for over 100m. Kyle had a really good game. Best I've seen him play. Think he had 3 try assists. Ilias was ordinary even in that game.
If Kyle is picked, I'm sure he will have to play well or he will get dropped. IMO people are worrying about it too much. I honestly don't think Flanno favoured him last season. It's just we didn't have anyone else. It seems almost everyone agrees he is and last season was better than Ilias. Glover was better in attack than both of them but I can't even imagine him in the NRL with THAT defence. He makes Sloan's defence look like JDBs. So unless Flanno was going to play JDB at halfback, he was out of options.
And as for giving LKT a bit of rev in public, he was right to do that. He expects more from LKT. As for Kyle, he knows he's playing to the best of his ability. Why give him a rev?
JDB...... feels weird knowing I won't be talking about his game or other issues next season. Pretty sure I remember his debut. He came off the bench against Newcastle and I was saying then he was a gun forward.
