Some poor defensive reads in that clip
Yes, specially on our line. Let a comfortable lead slip. Probably the clubs two most promising offensive talents, Finau and Tamale being starved of possession by inept play makers. It was tho a jinking run by Sione that got us home. Matt and Max were strong, this grade suits them while Ben Johnson went fine in attack but let himself down with some poor defense against his opposite. As usual the Couchmans were tireless, but odd selections with both picked as starting bookends. The two that should have played there,Tuitavake and Fifita added impact when they came off the bench, but the latter's dumb shoulder hit cost us valuable points. Luckily we had built a solid lead by then. Need to change the edgies BMM and Egan.

Fifita just isn't going to make it.

He has terrific potential, powerful carries, good PCMs, very hard to put to ground. I think his main problem is he tries too hard to impress and can can make simple but costly errors. A good coach will sort out his game imho. Problem is that may be with another club.

Jackson Shereb mark II. Prototype build for a good front rower but goes missing. Maybe just not tough enough for first grade.

Hard to know his correct size as our useless website does not list it. Hasnt he played mostly in the back row. Doubt he is 116 kilos like Vili all the same.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant Shereb is built like a prototype backrower and Fifita is built like a prototype prop. But both go missing big time and very consistently.

The Dragons are on the up and key to that is playmaker Jesse Marschke. The 26-year-old has now scored in back-to-back games and has eight try assists in six appearances this season — including one on the weekend. Marschke, who would’ve felt right at home at North Sydney Oval after spending three seasons with the Bears, also recorded a linebreak, four tackle busts and 77 metres.

And the 20-year-old Couchman twins once again led from the front. Ryan topped the metre count for the game with 209, while also making 31 tackles — two misses — at prop. In each of his last six games, Ryan has ran at least 150 metres and has been averaging 35 tackles per game. Toby, was right up there with his brother, finishing with 171 running metres and 31 tackles — one miss. Toby has also been in red-hot form this season. He’s averaging 155 running metres and 33 tackles per game at a seriously impressive tackle efficiency of 97.8 per cent. The pair can’t do much more to earn a call-up by NRL coach Shane Flanagan.

Makeshift fullback Mat Feagai is looking better with every game he gets in the No.1 jersey. Feagai has played majority of his footy on the wing but has been playing fullback, while in NSW Cup, due to a lack of depth in that position. Feagai scored a try in the Dragons’ win over the Raiders, got two linebreaks, 10 tackle busts and ran 175 metres.

Young gun winger Savelio Tamale was electric once again, finishing with a try, eight tackle busts and 200 running metres. The 19-year-old now has seven tries in his last six games and is averaging over 150 metres per game — it’s no wonder he’s attracted the interest of a rival club.

Keeping the Couchman's out of first grade is just stupid at this point. Merely points to how stubborn Flanno is. And how weak an assistant Deano is. He should be telling Flanno to pick them in first grade.

But I think Marschke's form is a worry for Flanno. He won't want calls to grow for him to be promoted to first grade.

Picking BMM and Mike Molo ahead them is talking the piss.

  • With Fifita out suspended for a few weeks, it's now or never for the highly fancied prop in juniors, Josh Coric.
  • Alec Tuitavake is slipping down the order or what? I thought he was going better than Fifita for example.
  • I wonder of prop is the Couchman's position going foward even though they can play anywhere in the pack except hooker.
  • Nice to see Tamale back with a chance to impress in the centres.
  • Finally Ben Rumble is back. He seems to be very important to this time.
  • A few of the St George SB Ball players in. #8, #11, #16. Good to see. A few of them along with #1, #3, #6, #9, #12 might be the future of the NRL team.
  • Was #5 or #2 also a winger for the St George SB Ball team? The one I'm thinking of was on the left wing. Relatively big, fast, runs hard.
