Promising Juniors Thread.

Just having a look through the recent posts in this thread we seem to have a production line of forwards but not too many backs. Who are the really talented and preferably very fast backs we have coming through?

Also the little I have seen of Kade Reed I have been impressed. What are the views on him?

What’s happening with Jesse Williams re progression? How has he been performing in Flegg?

being the nerd I am I was literally putting together Justamugs list into visual form to see how this all looks over time... noting that there are a bunch of kids we dont even know the names of yet who will come.. but you can see whats coming in the next 1-2 years... and we still have a lot of unconfirmed development positions for next year..

I think Williams will be 1 of them.. even though by all accounts hes not killing it in flegg.. and I have to assume LKT is another.. but it still leaves 2 spots.. perhaps 2 of those Train & Trials will be promoted... would be ideal to get some backs or maybe a hooker in there... but whoever it is only has 1 year to show their stuff, cause 2026 has almost all the dev spots already locked.. would be ace if some of those backs would come on faster than expected and help our decision-making.

When he has had room to move he has converted that into tries. Has also used his speed for cover tackles to save tries.

Overall game has been poor, average around 50rm a game and has been poor with his front on defence and reading.
Still has time but needs to get involved more and increase his output.

Jesse will not be jumping those guys on T&T contracts to get a SL contract.
At this sage he will do one day a week pre-season.

Do you we will try and fill some development spots externally? Try to fill a couple of the roster gaps we seem to have.. cause im not sure promoting players for the sake of it is ideal..

As for Jesse, I wonder if this is why the contract is taking so long.. a lot of clubs have eyes on him.. even though I know he seems to have a long way to go.. I would have thought they would be keen to put as much work into him as possible, the raw potential is there.

Thank you for the feedback. That is disappointing but I hope he can work on his weaknesses and progress. We sure need some speed in the NRL squad.

It's to be expected that he and all the others have weaknesses, coaches will work on his weakness as he progresses through the grades, if he improves he will make it, if not he can enjoy watching his SGBall highlights..

I think it must be hard to go from U19 to U21 suddenly. But will need to see big improvement next year.

Thanks for doing that! Buchanan will surely be one of the remaining SL list. Williams won't be according to Justa so of the two others I wish one was Kirk or Rumble because we need outside backs but realistically I think Halangahu and Stanley-Traill.

Looks like the Jersey Flegg next year is going to be best in...... a long time. Unless the NSW Cup is extraordinarily young.
