Promising Juniors Thread.

I feel better about us fending off Parra vs Roosters/Storm etc.. they might be able to offer more opportunity (Latu is in a queue), but I think the way Stewart/Egan have performed is a good thing as well.. it will be giving the coach confidence to play juniors more often.. but its still a queue..and Latu still has Tonga in front of him as well.

But ultimately I dunno just how much overs other clubs are willing to pay.. bit like Tamale last year.. if someone is willing to pay big money for a teenager, it becomes a difficult situation for us.

I think opportunity is more of a factor than the club tbh, he’ll probably be promised to play in parramatta’s 17 sporadically at least next year.

We have all his mates at the club and he’s got good memories of winning SG ball and been with us for a while so maybe that counts for something in negotiations.

I think ur right about the overs thing though, like how much is a club willing to pay for an unproven rookie with bags of talent.

We shall see, I thought he was the best of the young guys against the bears yesterday even with that nasty eye poke he got early on

Ai agree with all that, and unfortunately if we didnt have Tonga and Stewart and DMeafou and CST to be extending, we probably are far more ready to just pay Latu overs... I assume Parra have plenty of young talent also mind you.. but maybe not quite the same class in that position...

Anyway just gonna have to be patient i think.. Latu is my favourite of the Big 3, but it is what it is.. nothing we can do about it.

Yeah we are of the same mind I think Rev, he’s too good to let go but there’s plenty of guys to be happy about. Maybe I’m just being greedy

Difficult situation but it will be a real shame to lose him. Is he next off the blocks in regard to a NRL debut?

Tonga is next.. hes 1-2yrs older, played a few mroe cup games, and extended already.. but Latu prob behind him.. maybe if he extends they will do one of those debut week things..

Someone said Sele mentioned he is still a few weeks away also.. so dont think hes in the conversation.

Pack including Tonga, Stewert, Couchman, Egan? Seriously young pack. I like it. In a year from now, I think it'll prove to be very beneficial.

shit guler got 3 games with an early plea.. far out.. well that might be tongas debut..
Does he go with Loko and have 3 inexperienced players or bring back RFM (on bench), I can see JDB taking the prop spot and Stewart #13 and have Toby starting on the bench, Loko would be a brave move, hope he does.

yeah not sure.. I dont really think RFM is bringing much though, esp as a middle.. lawrie either... problem with guler being out is he was a big minute prop... but what if we lost toby or jack early in the game, who is picking up the slack.

Also not sure if Sua is a definite starter yet..

If Latu re-signs this week, I think it'll be him.

Hopeful it's Loko but I think it'll be RFM. He can cover Su'a who is carrying an injury & can play longer mins than Loko if required. RFM looks great on an edge when he's 1v1 against the defender, he doesn't get the same luxury in the middle.

Spot on, I think Stewart, Couchman have given Flanno the confidence to blood youngsters. Now Egan's great performance vindicates his selections.

Based on an interview Latu gave in off or pre season, he will stay with us. Just pay him same as his AS mates. That trio will be the nucleus of our future pack.
