I agree 100% so that means he'll probably pull a late switch and replace Amone with Bird and bring Kerr into the starting side.Well his time has come lets see if he can nail down a permanent spot
Kerr? seriously ?I agree 100% so that means he'll probably pull a late switch and replace Amone with Bird and bring Kerr into the starting side.
If I were picking the team, absolutely no way. I'm just saying what I think Coach Griffin will do.Kerr? seriously ?

Agree. Well, definitely better. I wouldn't go so far as to say far better. Bird does some good things in support play. If he tackled better, much better, he'd probably be a good backrower.I don't know about a better all-round player but your man Gosiewski is definitely a far better second rower!
As I said before contract negotiations do affect performance on the field especially when the players realise that they are not going to receive the money they are seeking. Now it's done and dusted let's see if he is more intense on the field.Agree. Well, definitely better. I wouldn't go so far as to say far better. Bird does some good things in support play. I hope that was it and now we are going to see him much more intense. I think it's only a matter of his defence. For a forward, he seems to be a very poor defender. This was glaring in the games v Shonkies and Melbourne. As I said before contract negotiations do affect performance on the field especially when the players realise that they are not going to receive the money they are seeking. Agree plus in my opinion he was still feeling the affects of his recent injuries and most probably shouldn't of playedI hope that was it and now we are going to see him much more intense. I could be wrong but I don't think Bird has been injured in a while.Agree plus in my opinion he was still feeling the affects of his recent injuries and most probably shouldn't of played
Hes injured believe me. He suffered a couple of injuries in the Anzac Day clash. I witnessed this live. He is carrying injuries hasn't fully recovered yet. In my opinionI could be wrong but I don't think Bird has been injured in a while.
If the injury is so bad that it's preventing him from playing a decent game, isn't it on the coach for picking him?Hes injured believe me. He suffered a couple of injuries in the Anzac Day clash. I witnessed this live. He is carrying injuries hasn't fully recovered yet. In my opinion
Would be especially good of the Rorters were chipping in some of his salary.Angus Crichton would be a massive pick up for the Dragons. He and Su'a on the edges for the next 3 years or more. Exactly what the Dragons need.
Angus Crichton’s contract exposes Sydney Roosters salary cap crisis
Phil Rothfield revealed a salary cap squeeze and not a three player exodus to bring Cameron Munster to the club could cost the Roosters Angus Crichton. The Roosters were rumoured to be chasing Munster by offloading Crichton, Luke Keary and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, but Rothfield revealed that Crichton’s extension with the club cannot be rubber-stamped by the NRL due to a salary cap squeeze next season.
“The bottom line is I don’t think Munster will be at the Roosters because they have serious salary cap issues,” Rothfield said on NRL 360. “They have got Joey Manu who is not off-contract until 2024 and he’s on $800,000 a year. They have got James Tedesco on $1.1 million. Luke Keary is on $850,000. Brandon Smith next year is on $800,000 as well. “So I just don’t think there is room for a $1.1 or $1.2 million player.”
Rothfield believes rugby union could again be on the table for Crichton as the Roosters aim to get their salary cap in shape, before they can contemplate signing a player like Munster. “I’ll tell you how much pressure their salary cap is under, Angus Crichton agreed to terms and the deal wasn’t signed because they cannot lodge it with the NRL because it would put them over the cap for next year,” Rothfield said. “Ronald Volkman and Freddy Lussick have left to go to the Warriors. Sio Siua Taukeiaho goes at the end of the year. Kevin Naiqama goes. Sam Verrills will probably go.
As far as I can see, they won't be chipping in because his contract hasn't been lodged. Apparently Luke Keary is going to be on a cool 1.3 mil next year. I can't see any other team putting in half of that to take his salary over. So I wonder of there are any other good, young forwards we can get from the Rorters?Would be especially good of the Rorters were chipping in some of his salary.
Correct just shows you the coaches current mindset. Personally I would have used one of our other backrowers presently on the fringe we are not short on them but it appears that the coach believes that playing an injured Bird is the better option. I disagree but I'm not the coach. Let's see his performance against the Titans on Saturday now that his contract negotiations have been finalised, I'll be watching closely from the grandstands. If the injury is so bad that it's preventing him from playing a decent game, isn't it on the coach for picking him?
Do you think his defence which at times can only be described as pathetic is due to injury. I don't mean to say Bird is an average to poor player. I don't think he is but I said a few days ago, your man Gosiewski is a far better second rower. I haven't changed my opinion one iota. If Bird is to be judged for his support play above defence or metre making, he should be a 5/8, centre or fullback!Correct just shows you the coaches current mindset. Slow down. I agree with you but just not to the same extent. I agree Gosiewski is a better backrower. It's only a matter of scale. You said far better but in my opinion he is only a little better. Just my humble opinion. A second rowers job is tackling well and making metres, not support play but if a second rower has support play in his game, it can't be a bad thing, can it?Do you think his defence which at times can only be described as pathetic is due to injury. Partly due to injuries during Anzac Day but overall form has been poorer than last season but its contractual negotiations in my view that has affected his play same as Sims. Now that chapter is closed perhaps we might see him return to something like his best. Hopefully in the Titans game time will tell.Do you think his defence which at times can only be described as pathetic is due to injury. I don't mean to say Bird is an average to poor player.
