For those who are wondering about the Molo situation.

Molo fronted the board yesterday with his manager and an RLPA Member no resolution was reached. Sources speaking under the condition of anonymity have claimed Molo has taken umbrage with a Dragons staffer which prompted a release request. The request was denied by the club. He refused to train following this break down which is why the club gave him a show cause notice which has now began this story.

So far the situation is Molo has NOT withdrawn his request for a release and the Dragons are holding firm which means no resolution.

It appears Emre Gular was signed with the Intention of being part of the squad with Molo. If the Dragons do decide to release Molo they will need to sign a replacement. Gular was not signed with the intention to replace Molo.

So it appears the claim was correct. Molo does not have any mental health issues it’s the new thing players are using to get out of contracts. He is also trying the “refuse to train” stunt which got Hunt out of his contract. It does not appear Molo has an issue with any of the players or Flanagan or where the club is going or has a better offer on the table it’s purely an issue with this staff member. Hopefully the relationship between Molo and the staffer can be resolved or they can just move forward for the betterment of the club.

I'd prefer Gular for less money if it was one or the other. If it's true Flanno wanted both, big risk not having a spare spot in the top 30 for a couple more months.

Frank Molo has never averaged 100 ARM. Coric gone so has a guy I had earmarked hopefully as a career player for us, Corey Ackers. Bummer. Evidently BOD see him as too injury prone. Gotta say when I first saw this kid in his last year of Matts Cup running into defenses like a runaway bull and pile driving big guys into the turf, I was excited by his promise but feared for his longevity. Another Saints junior given the heave ho..

Ackers isn't gone yet. But apparently there are a few the same age or younger who are ahead of him.

Super talented prop Zyon Mai’s Signs with the bulldogs effective immediately.
Hate seeing the dogs make shrewd signings like this, especially a player that we should have been all over.

Hopefully this means Pahulu ain’t going to them and we can make a move for him

The good news is that he's probably not that good. Like Ackers for the Dragons. According to the DT, losing Ackers would be a huge blow for the club. The reality is that I hope he comes good and stays but at this stage, he's behind a few others. A decent way behind.

As a middle forward, he's behind LPT, Couchmans, Steward, Latu. Anyone else?

I think Daniel Meafou/Leeroy Weatherall are much better prospects than Ackers.

Not arsed about him going in the slightest, In fact they need to be more ruthless with junior recruitment.
Identify if their not quite good enough and move them on instead of wasting a train and trial/development contract on them in order to replace them with someone better

Dogs let go of Mason Phillips (who is with us now) and signed Kaawyn Patterson (Best #9 in his age group) the warriors u17’s Hooker to replace him even though Phillips is very talented.

Ackers is on a contract though, and tbf been unlucky with injury... but I dont think he would be renewed next year anyway with Weatherall, CST, DMeafou, CMeafou, possibly Liu needs a spot.. and there are other positions we need room for also....its a bit unfortunate so many came through at once.. we do need to be ruthless I agree, but its also really difficult to "pick a winner" with the teenagers (although that is the game isnt it!), and its not just footy skill that will get them there... but id back Flanno to get most of them right.. obviously we wont nail them all.. we cant blood them all at once.

Can't blood them all at once but SURELY both Couchmans are going to be in the 17 before Eisenhuth and RFM. Nothing against those latter 2 but I'd say both Couchmans were ahead of them in 2023. Now they are several lengths of a football field ahead.

Have to wait a few weeks and see.

If Tom E and RFM are picked but not both Couchmans.... FMD I give up. I remember when I first joined I think you were talking about how McGuire or Macca or both or maybe must have compromising material on Griffin. I think Josh Kerr was another. No matter how badly they played, kept getting picked.

Need to settle down a bit. Just because the media are picking those 2 dosn't mean it will happen.

Ackers reminded me of the one and only Bull Bailey. Not the biggest or most skillful prop but hard as nails. I thought Ackers also has pretty good leg speed like Bull Bailey did. Thought he might compliment some of those others, who are a bit bigger, faster and more skillful with some footwork.
