Phil Rothfield really wants the Dragons to sign Corey Horsburgh. A good reason to not sign him. This thing with not getting on with Ricky Stuart isn't fooling anyone. They have agreed to say it's a personality clash, not form and ability keeping him out of first grade.

We keep hearing that DSaifiti is done.. if so we can only sign 1 more which is Horburgh 'or' NAS 'or' RCG.. i wonder which Flanno would prefer.. NAS would be twice the cost of Horburgh.. and more sides would be competing with us... tricky one... and you dont want to miss all 3.
Last nights win is perfectly timed though for out negotiations.. gives us a leg up in conversations.. but if he really wants NAS.. that one could take weeks/months yet.. need the storm to acknowledge hes going first.. and probably 3-4 other clubs will be competing...

I'm wondering why we need any of the above. Middle forwards on the books for next year:
- JDB
- Sele
- Molo x 2 (I think mike Molo goes ok. I think he might be better than Frank actually. Just in the same boat as Lawrie and Sele. Small for a prop.)
- Couchman x 2
- Lawrie
- Tonga
- Latu
- Fifita

My pick. Yes he is 32 and no longer a marquee but I have always liked his passion. And along with Jack he'd be a good mentor for our emerging forwards.

I think Flanagan wants to offload Blocka, doubt he rates Fifita and Loko Jr and Latu will only get a sniff of Firsts I am thinking, going on the go slow policy he has used with the Couchmans.

I think we are stuck with Blocka a bit longer.. but if he can clear him he will.. Fifita is the other he might want to move on.
The problem is he wants 2 big props, and lets assume Eisenhuth goes, and he wants Max, its gonna be very hard to fit the halves depth in we are after, and im sure in an ideal world he would love another gun outside back too.. but only so many spots to go around and we are very prop heavy next year.

Hallelujah the coach has decided that we are 1 big bodied prop short and we are actively seeking.one. Something this old retired 2nd grade bum coach has been consistently been saying since joining this forum. It's such a shame those types of players have rejected us previously because of our club culture and ill discipline. AFB would have fitted that bill like a glove. If we can snag that metre eater and a decent outside back, I believe that we could have a competitive top 8 team next season.

He's saying hes a bit stuck until he can offload some players.. so probably only 1 prop for now.. im hearing different things.. some saying Horsburgh is locked, some saying DSaifiti is locked.. seems like its only 1 for now atleast.
I suspect the Dogs and Tigers are starting to get involved now that Stefano is gone also.

Definitely. Signing him would be a coup. Surely Toby or Ryan C is going to be the lock next year. I'm confused by Flanno's attitude toward these two. They should have been in the 17 every week and whatever needs to be done should have been done to sign them long-term.

So am I, frustrating not being kept up to date. Too much rumor no substance. We'd reckon Flanagan has the inside running due to his days with Val at the Sharks so why is the decision taking so long. Perhaps Val dont like him and is waiting for a better offer...
