Something is fishy, he was arguably their best prop. Maybe they've stuffed the cap with all their middles/edges signed? Or they have a tip someone outside of nsw wants to return?

I think I meant Allen has had more highlights. Gutho was an honest workaholic during his prime. Take 2 hit ups every set and run for 250m a game without many line breaks. It's good. Helps out the forwards a lot but he was far behind Tedesco, Trbojevic, Edwards and a few more I can't think of right now.
Yea I dunno its odd, just re-signed and reasonbly cheap as well before his big run of form, like 450k a season or something? Easily was one of their best maybe he's just been agitating for a while? Can't see how they would need more cap space with the players they're already losing.
Not what you said and even then Gutho averages more in literally every stat across the board including 'highlights'. Not just over his last 10 years, but even last season while playing with busted ribs and a bung knee and still lead his team from the front.
No point continuing this convo anyway its clearly a hill you'd rather die on.

That family is just trouble. For the Rorters to have sacked him, he probably tried to punch on with the coach or something like that.
Though if Roosters just sacked him, meaning they will be paying out a large part or all of his contract, like Warriors and Lodge, might be able to get him cheaply. Though I guess the Bullgrubs will be all over this.

He's in English with the Samoa team now. Whatever it was happened at least a few weeks ago. Was probably a combination of things.

o Originally we were shooting for 2 middles, I dunno whats happened, but we rly only have room for 1 now in our Top 30, and even if we managed to clear a spot by buying out Lawrie or selling Fifita... I dont think we have the cash to splash at high end end props.. not until 2026 if JDB retires.. but we probably have more upgrades for our younger ones too.
o Probably we werent planning on Gutho and/or JAC being on the market.. but we were trying for an outside back of some sort.... but these guys r probably using money that we could of theoretically thrown at a 2nd forward.. and if Lodge is our man he would have been much cheaper than RCG.
o Now with Hunt gone, we will get a replacement.. that will also net us a 400k type saving..
o It is still surprising though when you look at sides littered with million dollar players.. we dont rly have any of em anymore.. probably Gutho will be our highest paid player actually... and I guess Val.. then maybe Sua or Sele next? I'd reckon most of the top team would be in that 500-700k range.. solid first grader money, no superstars.

I'm not against signing Gutho but on big money? No way! Maybe for the first year with Parra paying half but not for the second and he'll be NSW Cup C and 5/8 in the 3rd year.

Sorry to burst the bubble here, but we are covering 100% of his money (reverse of what we did with Hunt), and I would suggest it will be 3yrs.. he wont be in nsw cup though.. Clint will be the guy we are putting our faith in to lead the club up and out of this hole.

Absolutely not. If Parra had a half decent halfback who they deemed excess to their needs, it would be a god send. But as a general rule, should not sign the rejects from struggling clubs. Should only be a couple a rejects max. Holmes and Cook weren't rejects really. They wanted 2 years but their clubs weren't in a position to give them that. RFM and Gutherson are 100% rejects whose clubs wanted them gone.

Gutherson would be an ok signing. After a prop and halfback are signed and Couchman's re-signed. If we still had money left over to sign Gutherson for 2 years, so much the better. But he's surely not a priority.

Gutho would be a good buy for 2 years. Sorry for Sloan but how many years has it been waiting for him to show his potential on a consistent basis? He has shockers far more often than blinders. But Gutho on marquee money? Not in a million years unless Parra are paying half. It seems Parra might do that for next year. Begs the question, why do they want to get rid of him so badly?

Parra were without their halfback but with their "superstar" fullback for a lot of last year. Results showed why they want to get rid of the fullback. Why they are desperate to get rid of the fullback. The talk about them not paying any of his salary is complete BS. Otherwise he would have already been released. Good ol Flanno on the market for yet another journeyman veteran. If this goes through 3 things will happen:
- Dragons will get the spoon next year.
- Flanno won't be extended.
- Flanno won't admit signing Corey Allen was a mistake.
