That is if they dont get smashed by bigger guys before hand. Those skills you describe better suit an edgie as they usually have more room to move and no behemoths to crunch them.

Most of those really big props don't pull off big hits. They try to preserve energy for attack. And aren't quick enough laterally. Unless someone runs right at them.
What struck me about the Couchmans from when I first saw them in first grade in 2023, when they really were giving away a lot of kgs to most other middle forwards, was their obvious strength.
It's not fair to judge because blokes with shorter arms do bench press better and shorter legs do squats better. Couchmans have neither but I'd bet they manage to lift some very heavy weights in the gym.
Good to see Michael molo at the season launch. He's been put in such an awkward position cos of his bro. He's great for nsw up and depth. Always liked him as a workhorse type player. Obvs Francis didn't attend. Read his leave finishes up this week, hopefully means we get a resolution soon.

Tim Watsford believes Dragons are a sleeping giant that is just about to be awakened.
They are obviously stronger than their physiques suggest, but their agility and big motors are what impress me more. They have an incredible thirst for work. Recall Toby played middle for 70mins in one Ressie game.

So Frankie boy sick leave runs out next Friday. My understanding is if he doesnt return to training then the Dragons are not obliged to pay him. If that is correct you can bet you bottom $$ that something will happen leading up to next Friday. Time will tell

Klemmer still a free agent. I believe he's a much better prop than Molo.
Stewart may be a prop but looks more of a lock. Plus he lacks experience at the moment.I think Toby is a prop. Blocker seems on the outer. Not sure he featured in the trials. Both the Couchmans should get more first grade this year. But I think the formula is to have an experienced prop who is a bit of an enforcer and hits the ball up hard.
So get rid of Molo and sign Klemmer asap !

Props and locks play almost the same game these days. The smaller props who can pass the ball like JDB. Not the really big ones like Frank Molo whose only job is to run hard, make metres and provide offloads (for the better ones which Molo isn't). Stewart will probably put on another 10kg before he reaches his long-term playing weight. That will put him in the run hard, make metres category.
But yeah, signing Klemmer for 2 years would be just what this team needs. Then it will all be on the halves. The only question mark in the team IMO.

Unfortunately as of this moment can't sign Klemmer cause there are no available top 30 spots. I really can't understand a couple of Flanno's recruitment and retention decisions.

Specially the bloke muddying the waters at present, Frank Molo who does not appear to be wanted by anyone else so he is blocking us from adding another prop to our Top 30. Why does this club continue to shoot itself in the foot.

Should've let Hunt go at the first opportunity, the first time he requested a release and shouldn't of re-signed Molo but that's easy to say now. As long as it's sorted out soon, it'll be good to have them both gone.

Don’t know the general consensus around us signing Klemmer but IMO it’s not a big issue, if he signs for a year then fine it’s a body in the door to fill a hole for a year but if he doesn’t I don’t think it makes much of a difference. Unless we have a torrid run of injuries in the middle forwards between now and the June 30 deadline then im ok with sticking with what we’ve got for the season
