Recruitment and Retention for 2026

Yep its sort of how us fans think.. i.e. what I saw with my eyes last weekend week will happen every week from now on.. and thats why footy tipping comps are so hard.. because things never say the same...

We spoke about this next 4 week period a while back.. these 4 games are as soft as games can get in 2026...but every one of these sides on their day could run riot.... Mailroom I think said we needed to win 3 or 4 of them.. for me.. the minimum I would be OK with is to win 2 of them (which would put us @ 2 from 6, 1 short of a 50% win ratio)... anything less than that and we are in some real strife cause there are not many soft games in this comp... it will just get harder to pull off wins from there.

If we are 0 from 6, blow the joint up.
OK if we go 0 - 3 after this weekend, which I hope we dont, then we have Titans away, that could be anything, NQ at home that could be anything and Manly at home, that could be anything.
We are desperate and we are playing desperate sides, 2 of them with their coach's jobs on the line. Christ it used to be our season was done and dusted a few weeks from finals, then it was done and dusted mid season, now we may face the reality of the first 6 RD's being zip, surely not, please no. Lets just get a win this weekend and put all this nonsense to bed !!!

Charges were dropped. Doesn't that = aquitted?

nope ... aquitted means declared not guilty. That part never happened for all charges.
The prosecution after 2 x Hung juries decided it wasnt worth going to trial a 3rd time.
We know that some jurors across the two trials believed he was guilty and some jurors believed he was not guilty.
A sordid mess

Hope it's not serious
Hey St George Tragic. I've posted this in the Injury and Suspension Update 2026 Thread. This Thread is for Recruitment and Retrenchment for 2026. Eric and Jo have been trying to get us to post things in the right Threads. Sorry to bring this to your attention.

Charges dropped = not guilty. Unless the presumption of innocence has been secretly repealed.

"declared" the key word not "presumed" ... just a technicality on the word rather than guity vs not guilty.
Also by not going to trial the prosecution reserves the right to take it to trial if other evidence were uncovered.
So technically not guilty via presumption of innocent but not acquitted as aquittal removes the ability to go to trial again etc ...

If new evidence emerges, charges can be made or dropped. One can't be found guilty of the same thing twice. It's called "double jeopardy".

The only thing that is certain is that the cop who fabricated evidence in order to press charges has been found guilty of that, convicted but unfortunately only given a suspended sentence.

JDB is innocent. Xerri was guilty of taking steroids and AFB was guilty of beating his GF. That is all that matters.
He was innocent of committing a crime. True. I know about the perfect moral being casting the first stone and all that but what he did justifiably put a lot of female fans in particular offside, excuse the pun.

The most important thing for the here and now is how it relates to this thread: He was let go at the right time. He looked to have lost 2 steps of speed in the game I saw last week. He had a great career. If he came along a couple of years earlier to play or play more with Beau Scott, Mick Weyman and etc and under Wayne Bennett, and if he didn't sit out for more than 2 years, he would've been a NRL great, not just a club great.

Having said all of that, I'd still say he is better than Josh Kerr.

As for Xerri, I don't care that he was guilty of munching steroids. I just wouldn't sign him because I watched him a few times thinking with extra bulk and speed steroids offer, he'd be a star. Far from it! I can understand why he's been dropped.

Too many steroids on the brain as well. You have to be an idiot to get caught for it these days. Look at Micheal Phelps and his mysteriously diagnosed asthma after which, 3/4 of the US swim team were mysteriously diagnosed with the same asthma. Or the Chinese swimmer who suddenly came from nowhere to smash the WR only to just as suddenly fall away. Or the US swimmers whose faces mysteriously all turned purple after races last Olympics. Lance Armstrong was never caught. He was convicted due to teammates being caught and spilling the beans.

I mean to say, they are tested up the you know where and get away with it. How did Xerri get caught in an environment where testing is minimal in comparison? Don't need him at the club because he's not more than fringe first grade and because he's an idiot.

Rant over and out.
