Why is Flanno "gifting" certain players positions? Does he think this is U10s where everyone but the kid with a bad attitude should get a game?

I wouldnt say Sloan has a bad attitude.. kid is trying... but from a recruitment perspective... Sloan is already on 500k for 2 more years... and if the wing experiment works out for Sloan its great for us longterm.. potentially a dynamic winger who can cover fullback if Gutho has an injury, and when he eventually retires...

I get the logic, but I thought given we have SFinau who killed it in the trials and had done his 2yr cup apprenticeship.. was supposed to be first winger picked in 2025... there could be other reasons, or Flanno not wanting to play him before he extends which would up his value.. we as fans cant know.. but in terms of winning games, I think he's first picked winger... and of course captain hindsight is always right.. but I think he helps us win at least 1 more game if hes playing in the early rounds.

That's not what I meant. I was just speculating why Flanno refuses to pick Finau. I can only guess Flanno doesn't like him personally. After the first round team was named without Finau, someone speculated Finau and Kyle don't like each other. That would cause Flanno to banish him. At least that's another theory. because I can't see any logical reason at all why he isn't, as you say, the first winger picked.

The wing experiment isn't going to work out for Sloan. I've seen enough. He can't run hard. I don't know what the problem is. If his frame is too slight or he just doesn't have the heart but even if his tackling was to get much better, if he can't run hard and make PCMs, he isn't going to make it as a winger.

Sometimes it looks to me like Flanno has thrown in the towel. Making the big calls doesn't really interest him. I know he eventually let Hunt go but that was only after he publicly questioned Kyle's place in the team. He let Lomax go but at the time, TBH, it wasn't a big call.

its not much of a bench unfortunately, but so many missing middles this is probably as good as its going to get all year, bar Guler... i'm not sure we will see any of Sele, Tom, BMM or Ryan all year.

Won't see Ryan. That is certain but also the only one who really matters for the first grade team.

Personality differences need to be kept out of pro footy. What is best for the team has to be the #1 priority. If this is the case then Flanno and his son should be sacked. Grow some balls BOD...

Ditto. I see it as Flanno backing himself into a corner by saying on record that with Gutho playing as custodian Sloan will be shifted to wing. All this after Sloan had been extended for two years, yet has barely played as a specialist winger. We have the inmates running the asylum.

Tino is suspended and Foran is out injured. Things have really gone our way this season in that regard. Hasn't done us much good.

They got to the front via Parra playing very badly and a few barge over tries but never looked like what good teams would do and keep piling on the points until it was beyond doubt.

So why isnt Sione playing ahead of either Sloan or CT as the superior winger. His finishing in the trial had to be seen to be believed. Anything to the rumor he wants out, if not why hasnt he been upgraded.

I interested in that too. I hope he doesn't want out. Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of talent coming through the lower grades in the outside backs. At least not for next year. Maybe the year after will be ok but too early to tell.

Me either but Tino is one of their forwards that runs the 100m ➕️ every game and he is out meaning statistically only 2 of their forwards will now run those metres which won't make them competitive in the middle of the park. So watch their backs come in to take most of their first 3 hitups from the kick return
