Recruitment and Retention for 2026

Don't know if we are a chance but JPahulu is off contract for 2026, if we could sign him and then try and get an early release but we all know that Hasler is a stubborn prick..

I'm not sure I've ever seen him play but I can't understand why Titans would've wanted RCG if Pahulu was good. Then again, if he's no good, why wouldn't they jump at the chance to release him? Makes no sense to me.

First thing first, is he still injured? If not has he had a preseason, how long would it take him to get match fit, literally no football in 2 years.
EDIT: Did some more digging.. the dogs apparently paid out Suttons contract.. therefore my assumption that he was fit seems incorrect.. I take it all back, if hes not fit hes not worth the risk even for the next 6 months.

My first reaction too. Bit sooky. Been different if he had been told, need to lift mate as your stats dont tally with your status as a forward leader and the coin we are paying you..
Just looking for a way out of his contract. Obviously someone from a rival club had a quiet word to him and said something like, "if you can get out of your contract, we will pay you more and for an extra year." Wouldn't surprise me if it was the Roosters even though they are saying Dolphins are his likely destination.

Was announced an hour or so ago that Dolphins have signed him.

Questioned needs to be asked what role did Ben Woolf play in this, our former assistant coach who has moved to the Dolphins, was he involved in this, Andrew Webster mentioned that clubs and the NRL knew about his manager telling clubs that he was available.

Crazy statement, Payne Haas may end up as the greatest prop of all time, let’s wait and see before donning Loko as Haas’ equal
Of course. Not saying LPT will be as good. Just a good, big prop which Dragons haven't had in a while combined with wishful thinking.

72 minutes the same intensity from start to finish, literally one of the first to tackle the fullback/winger from a kick, takes the first hit up and most times will take a 2nd hit up in the same set, PCM always, tackle efficiency would be high 90's, lateral movement is amazing for such a big man and to top it all off he is probably faster than a lot of backs, the guy is phenomenal and 25years old to boot..

This is how the DT values the Dragons roster.
1. Clint Gutherson (seems reasonable. I agree.)$700,000
2. Tyrell Sloan (as above)$380,000
3. Moses Suli (as above)$480,000
4. Valentine Holmes (as above)$700,000
5. Christian Tuipulotu (as above)$300,000
6. Kyle Flanagan (He should be on a minimum wage as that's more than any other club was willing to pay)$410,000
7. Lachlan Ilias (seems reasonable. I agree.)$330,000
8. David Klemmer (seems reasonable. I agree.)$450,000
9. Damien Cook (a bit overpaid given how he played in the first 2 rounds)$550,000
10. Emre Guler (seems reasonable. I agree.)$370,000
11. Luciano Leilua (seems reasonable. I agree.)$500,000
12. Jaydn Su’A (seems reasonable. I agree.)$620,000
13. Jack de Belin (club would be getting a bargain)$540,000
14. Jacob Liddle (club would be getting a bargain)$280,000
15. Hame Sele (seems reasonable. I agree.)$300,000
16. Raymond Faitala-Mariner (I think Bulldogs are paying around half. In that context, it's reasonable.)$350,000
17. Toby Couchman (club would be getting a bargain. I think 600k is more appropriate.)$400,000

Well that is not how the salary cap should work, shows you it is not the end all of providing a fair playing field

This particular person has been through hell in his personal life with both his parents in jail, he has taken over the responsibilities of being a father to his brothers and sisters. That hardens you up, it is real life not a game of footy. He shows a great deal of maturity and responsibility beyond his years and that clearly shows when he laces up the boots. It's his escape from the harsh realities of his personal life when he plays footy and his mental toughness compliments his physical toughness. Off contract at the end of the 2026 season and you can bet your house on it the majority of clubs will throw there hat into the ring to sign him but the reality is that his family will come first and he will be able to demand a long term contract on $1.25m plus per season, I would suggest if he stays injury free.

Don't get too excited. A couple of years ago Jason Taumololo ran for over 300 metres against the Dragons. Looks what's happened to him. Hoping Haas's game goes the same way.
