Every club in the NRL has their scouts at the ASSRL championships, it’s an absolute feeding frenzy

Most of the good halves at those championships are locked up prior to playint

Last year alone the CHS halves were Reed whos with us and Talataina who was the SG ball player of the year

The CIS halves were Rodwell and Woods who ended up being the AUS Schoolboys halves

The QLD halves were Herdegan who’s signed with the cowboys and Harrison who the titans have locked down term

NSWCCC halves were Sydhir (average player IMO) and Cooper Black who was playing country rugby league at the time and unsigned has now signed with penrith

More than likely Jasais Ah Kee will be in the halves for NSWCCC and Marley Maclaren potentially in the halves for QLD

What I am excited for is the NSW U19’s team, that could have a few dragons boys in there

Highlight of the game for me was Dylan's ball and all cover tackle. The kid is 100% effort all game every game.

Thanks for your report justa. Disappointing that you didn't see a win tonight at the grounds. Our team is like it is governed by a switch to turn them on and then turn them off. We definitely are trying and sometimes over trying. We are positive and then become negative. There is just no one able to take control of the team and lead by example. No speed in the halves which in this day and age is essential to help run the opposition ragged. No speed and power in the forwards to help make the yards needed to better our chances in scoring points. No rigid structure to ensure we have control over the opposition. No brains to see what is needed to outplay the opposition. Do our coaches identify the oppositions weaknesses and play to them?

I honestly hope that things turn around and the switch for the team stays on and be positive for the rest of the year.
No worries Dave, its getting harder and harder to attend these games, I seem to leave with disappointment more often than not. My feeling walking out of WIN was that season is now done and dusted. The young ones seem to be the only highlight so far, lets hope they stick around and we dont ruin them long term. Someone told me that Dean Young was the one giving it to the boys at HT, has Flanno lost the playing group ?

Yes, that's understandable justa - leaving after a loss leaves a bad taste in your mouth and its not from the onion in the pies. I agree, our season is turning out like our other years and I cannot see them making the top 8 again so from the almost midpoint of the season its to see how the youngsters perform each week now and cheering on our KOE Cup team which has a very good chance of making the grand final. What do you think about the coach of the Cup team, Willie Talau? I think he has some good credentials to make a great Head Coach of first grade one day. Cheers and I must say it's really refreshing again to be making posts when earlier on this year I thought my days of posting would be over.

Are you kidding...
Of course we will have reps there.
As well as the 15ys trail at the beginning of this month, the CCC trials last week the CIS trials this week, the CHS trial next week.
As well as every Peter Mulholand Cup game.
Then the ASSRL 15s Championships start of July.
If we waited till ASSRL to sign the best we would miss out.
We have signed one of the best Qld playmaker last year and are well into talks with one of the best 17yo playmaker.

Ranting after every loss losses its effect.
A coach needs to pick his moments and use his assistant coach's to effect as well.
Agree, I threatened my players that I would make them wear ballet tutu's to training once after we had been touched up 3 weeks in a row. It's easy to over react and take things personally.

Sometimes you need to step back, take a breather.

Glad you are here old mate your posts are always a worthwhile read, and to the guys running this Forum well done. I had a sneaky look at the LU forum and there were once again members piling on so much hate for each other, and yet we got banned for acknowledging a welcome back. Just ridiculous, anyway lets hope some others see the light and come on over.
