Griffin & Hunt

We won last 3, credit where credit is due. Under Griffin this is the highest we have finished in 3 years. The boardroom will take this into consideration plus having to pay out Griffin $475k if they sack him. So the writing is on the wall. Hunt retained, Griffin not sacked and more unrest within the club and team. You heard it here first.
Unfortunately, I think you're right except this was Griffin's second season, not third.

Because the cluey footy experts know there is no contest. Ben picked up those DM three pointers because he is the skipper and prime play maker of the team so points voters naturally signal him out for major points, specially if he leads a win. Betting he has not been the best player in all those matches where he has garnered the most points, just that he kicked the vital 20/20, or made a good line snipe and generally had the backline moving. That is his job for crying out load..
Give credit where it's due. Hunt was outstanding on Saturday. He loves playing the Broncos.

That is his job for crying out loud..
In your opinion, cluey? I think most pundits aren't that cluey, they just usually have a voice in the media which allows those apparent experts to instill their own views upon us all. In reality the only experts are those who have either played or coached 1st grade. I listen a lot to Flanagan and his assessments of a game on fox, been there done that

Would be interesting to see how Hunt would fare in the current Penrith team. I think he'd excel.

Yes he was.. no denying that. Probably and deservedly earned major points. I am referring to the previous games where he has taken home major DM points this year. I have not seen him own a game such as he did on Sat. That is the kind of play we have expected from him since he joined us in 2018 as back then the club saw him as ' the half we had been seeking since the joint venture' or words to that effect. I saw us as already having such a player, Englishman/Aussie Gareth Widdop who practically carried Hunt for the two years before he left.

Agree. My opinion hasn't changed. Top 3 players this year were:
  1. De Belin
  2. Hunt
  3. Su'a

In my opinion the making of any teams playmaker is the ability of the pack to allow the playmaker to play giving him time and distance between the ruck and defensive line. It's the individual ability of that playmaker to access whether to play the structured attack or be able to play eyes up/ad lib football. A prime example of this is the Roosters with their halves when JWH and a couple of other forwards were missing or playing below their best both their halves were made to look ordinary. However in recent weeks their pack are dominating other teams and low and behold they make the semi finals whereas only 2 months ago we were all talking about them and Souths in the same sentences as us, can they grab that 8th spot. Well both did because their packs allowed them time and room to conjure up plays create 2nd and 3rd phase attacks and successfully executed their structured attacks consistently.

if they swapped out Cleary for Hunt.
Even then. The bitter truth is Hunt has never been a natural organiser. Take Flegg half Braxton Hall yesterday. He looks every bit a natural organiser. Note the way he links with his backs to produce a play.

Jack was clearly our most consistent player. Did he have an off game. Not that I saw. His workload in attack and defense is exceptional. Plus his ability to slip into first/second receiver revs up our backline. If anyone deserves a cool million in our side it is JDB.

Agree. Came of age. Will never be a ball playing prop.. mores the pity, as we need one of those plus that same someone carrying 10 more kilos and a bit of mongrel..
Agree, obvious to me someone pulled him aside amended his running technique and lowered his centre of gravity

Just explain to me why.
Just my opinion Hunt will always win us more games than Su'a quite obviously. Su'a is a good edge forward that in reality has two simple jobs to do whereas Hunt has a myriad of jobs to do which if allowed to do more consistently will eventually make us more competitive

I rate him highly especially when he continually played out of position for the greater benefit a great club and team player
