INFO WAS RIGHT - SALARY CAP

Illusion

In an interview Griffin was asked about his repeated signings of aging journeyman props. He said that are depth signings, many of them on minimum wage...... SO WHERE IS ALL THE SALARY CAP MONEY GOING?????
The Board are paying themselves for doing such a great job over the last 10 years or so ..... Pay increases for all , pats on the back and high fives all around ......

Is there any other explanation? They are asking for salary cap dispensation for Amone. Of course we should get it but why is it even an issue? Who is all the money going to? Even Hunt's inflated salary is pretty much normal for a good halfback these days.

They pushed the scam too far. Too many people started asking questions. Now they are saying "we have some money to spend" on top of the Amone situation.

Mitch Moses apparently signed a 1.25mil deal to stay at Parramatta. It's only a question of whether it's 4 or 5 years. So once again, we return to this.
  • As of next year, Dragons will have one of the lowest paid halfbacks.
  • We have a minimum wage hooker whose minimum wage the Tigers are subsidising.
  • A few journeyman forwards who according to the coach are on a minimum wage.
  • A 5/8 who was probably already not on much (for a 5/8) but is now on nothing at all as far as the salary cap is concerned.
  • A rookie fullback who is probably on among the least money for fullbacks.
  • Our highest paid forward is probably on the least money compared to the highest paid forwards in most or all other clubs.
  • Our goal kicking centre is on pretty much exactly as one would expect for a good, fringe Origin, goal kicking centre.
And no one else is on anything of relative significance. So once again, where is all the salary cap money going? I honestly think they have a scam going. Like they are paying _______________________ (fill in the blank) 50% more than he could get elsewhere on the provision he gives up 40% of that to ___________________ and ________________________(fill in the blanks).

Is there any other explanation????

The only thing I can think of is that some of the juniors, like the Couchman's are on huge money for players who haven't even played first grade yet.

If they aren't named in the top 30, so much for that idea.

And BTW, Moga is also on a minimum wage. How many players do the Dragons have on a minimum wage but still no salary cap money left?

Penrith lost a player for the season during the second trial game. They are pushing for and are seemingly very confident of a salary cap dispensation. Dragons lost a player before the pre season was even close but looks like not pushing for and won't get a salary cap dispensation.

The club is a joke and the head office are corrupt!

DRAGONS

Players off contract for 2024: 28

The Dragons are pushing hard as coach Shane Flanagan looks to strengthen his squad. If he can sign some players for 2024, he will do it in a heartbeat. St George Illawarra have the capacity to do it as well.

On contract for 2025: 15

The Dragons have buckets of cash to spend in 2025 and they could have even more if Ben Hunt leaves, as is widely tipped. If that happens, you can throw in another $800,000 or so. St George Illawarra will be one of the big hitters in the market. No-one is off limits with the amount of cap space they have at their disposal.

On contract for 2026: 6

Zav Lomax is the only big name the Dragons have on contract in 2026. They could have upwards of $9 million to spend in 2026 which would make them a serious threat to every other club in the game. They could have a shot at every marquee player in the game without fear of busting their cap.

Big cap eaters: Ben Hunt (2025), Jack de Belin (2024), Zac Lomax (2026), Jack Bird (2025), Francis Molo (2024), Jaydn Su’A (2024)
