Not a bad team that was flogged last week by the Dogs 34 - 4
Just gonna type the same. Ressies continue to disappoint. Typical poor recruitment, Turner signed as a halve, plays one game, dumped and now is playing at the back. Moga is too slow for the three quarters, give him a bench spot in the pack if you must play him. Who is their coach, hello, Amone is a specialist 5/8 not a half. Where are Braxton Wallace and Sam Hooper. Our FO are drongos appointing crap coaches across all grades.

  • Shereb injured or dropped. The guy is a prototype backrower except for that he keeps going missing. Maybe the club has run out of patience.
  • J. Hunt dropped or injured.
  • 6 and 7 swapping positions.
  • Purcell at lock! Interesting. Maybe toughening him up for the NRL next year?

What has happened to Sam Hooper? A standout and C of the Flegg side last year, when he wasn't promoted to NSW Cup but now has disappeared from view.
Agree it's almost time to give up on Shereb. He's 21 or 22 this year! Treigh Stewart must have had a shocker. If it wasn't for Sloan's blinder in first grade, that would be an issue. Only room for one of the two in the first grade team.

I hope it's not yet time to give up on him. Really need one more good, edge backrower. The Couchman's are said to excel both in the middle and on the edge but I feel they might become middle forwards from next year. From what I have seen, we are going to lose one JDB to retirement but get two in his place!

But that doesn't solve the issue of another edge forward.

Retrain Suli and/or Rava for the backrow. I think Suli would be especially good.

Successful one's who have made the permanent change. I'd suggest not many.
From what I saw of Euey last year, he's a better backrower than centre. He's been forced back into the centres out of necessity, not because Bennett thinks he's better there.

But you are right. Not many but some and I think Suli could be another.

Good coaches only move players (on a permanent basis) if they are going to be better in the new position, not to cover existing weaknesses. That's what I heard once but personally, I don't really know.

Sounds like the opposite of what I've heard. When you hear players talking about "what's best for the team".

Your right players usually, well when I was coaching only were moved out of necessity to cover suspension and injuries. There was the odd player who later in their careers could be moved as a utility or it was identified by the coaching staff that his style of play could be better suited in another position

Our Flegg boys scraped home 30-26 against the Knights after squandering a healthy lead at lemons-- oh sorry, oranges. Declan Purcell is going round again this year but not at hooker, lock.

Ressies look like getting flogged again. down 22-6 at the break. 30-10 at full time. Going by these two past results doubt the halves combination of Amone /Herring is working.
Jackson Sherab wasnt dropped or was injured, he did play but not in the back row as we may expect, in the centres.

I've been calling for that too. Rava first, his running can be devastating and in the middle he does not have to worry about his reading in defense flaws, just line up his victim and hit like a ton a bricks.
