Our Flegg boys scraped home 30-26 against the Knights after squandering a healthy lead at lemons-- oh sorry, oranges. Declan Purcell is going round again this year but not at hooker, lock.

Ressies look like getting flogged again. down 22-6 at the break. Someone was saying Jackson Sherab must've been dropped or was injured, well he is playing but not in the backrow as we may expect, rather he is camped out in the centres.

I've been calling for that too. Rava first, his running can be devastating and in the middle he does not have to worry about his reading in defense flaws, just line up his victim and hit like a ton a bricks.
It would also encourage Suli to his hands on the ball more often. 90% of the time all he does is run straight and very hard. It's good. Very effective. Would be even more effective as a backrower.

Apparently Amone played really well in a very poor NSW Cup team. But still missing a lot of tackles! I don't think Sully is going to get dropped anytime soon judging by his form but it's good to have backup. I wonder if Amone will be content to cool his heels in reserve grade for long. I wonder if any other clubs might want him.

Well Hunt is on the books for 2 more years after this one. And especially if both Sully and Junior are seen as "running halves", losing on of them is almost inevitable. Unless Junior puts on a few kgs and becomes a gun centre.

If I am Amone I'd feel rather pi**ed off to be honest as he was the incumbent and I dont think Sully has as yet taken the position by the horns to call it his. One good tackle and couple of plays was all I saw from him on Sat. Junior is a far busier player and more prepared to take on the line. He is bigger more elusive, has a neat short kick and throws a decent cut out pass. His only down side obviously is still his defense. Up to Ryan Carr to remedy that...

Both good players. I'm sure Junior will get a chance at some point this season.

  • Paul Turner still at #1 in front of Treigh Stewart. I can't work that one out.
  • Fuimaono has gone way downhill. Or so it would seem.
  • Really young team this one.
  • Purcell still at 13.
  • I didn't know Shereb was still eligible for Flegg.

He's older but behind the Couchmans. But good luck to him. I hope he goes well and gets a chance after round 10.

Mixed fortunes for our juniors.
Dragons BALL won 26-20 with Qld recruit Joven Gyemore bagging a triple while the Steelers won 16-10. Dragons MATTS went down 10-16 but the Steelers had a smashing 30-12 win.
Our Flegg match was cancelled for some reason.

You and I both. R & R were in such a hurry to sign a halve replacement for Amone, played one game there then his coach put him at fullback ahead of the promising Stewart. This is the problem with these late knee jerk buys, they go into the Top 30 whether warranted or not and a better player is left out.

They signed him so I guess now they are trying to justify that.

NSW Cup losing again.... Not much excitement here. Maybe it'll pick up by kick off.
We came back to have them 22-12, but have allowed them two late tries to tie up proceedings. 26 all draw. Another poor last 20 by a Dragons team. What is with our condition?

Unfit? I think it's the forwards just aren't going forward so late in the game, they are always gassed from all the defending.
