Legal win: St George Illawarra Dragons NRL player cleared of charges after alleged pub incident

A St George Illawarra Dragons NRL player has been cleared of charges police laid following an alleged incident at a pub in regional Queensland.
A talented up-and-coming National Rugby League player who debuted for the St George Illawarra Dragons has been cleared of minor charges.
In mid-2024 police charged the young football player, Lyhkan King-Togia, with two offences under the state’s liquor act - failing to leave a licensed venue and having to be removed from a licensed premises
The 19-year-old’s charges were dropped by police prosecution at the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 24, when the matter was mentioned for a second time.
The two charges related to an alleged incident at a Toowoomba pub on October 14, 2023, and were first mentioned before the court in July 2024.
On Tuesday, the court heard a warrant was on file for King-Togia’s arrest because he did not sign a bail undertaking.
The court heard that King-Togia did not sign his bail because he needed to be on the field and couldn’t return to Toowoomba.
King-Togia was not at court when the warrant was cancelled and the charges were dismissed.
At 17, King-Togia made his A-grade debut for the Dalby Diehards where he caught the eye of the Dragons recruitment director Ian Millward during a school game.
The regional Queenslander scored his first try during round 27 of the NRL match between the Dragons and Raiders at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on September 7, 2024.
Last month, King-Togia’s long-time mentor Jim Sankey told Newscorp the young player had the talent, work ethic, and mentality to become an elite player, likening him to a young Carl Webb.

It's amazing how few of the dragons players I recognised.. Mason Phillips not mentioned, is he going to the steelers perhaps? And no um Stanley-Traill, I thought he might be eligible again.

Steelers squad I think we will recognise a lot more returning names, should be a strong year for them.

Young Carl Webb? I hope not. We need him to be good in the halves, not prop. Carl Webb was only average anyway. If it wasn't for his sad fate, no one would remember him except family and friends.

Jake and Cyrus will come into the squad Finau won't.
Mason was a Billy signing so Steelers I would say.

There is 3 from the grand final and a few more from this year's squad. A lot from Harold Matts squad.

A few from Penrith, Parramatta, Manly and Newcastle juniors. A few country boys and a heap from Qld again.

A few to watch Blade Marquart a fast centre/FB
Max Blanch 9/13 from Bronco's system.
Tye Bursill a fast 9.

Zailen Campbell-Cook a fast FB winger who I'm excited about, I spotted him in a Koori game and recommended him to Basil.

Speaking of fast 9s, hows that hooker from Jersey Flegg this year, Kyan ********* going? Is he highly regarded at the club, mid-range or already sent on his way?

Looks like there is going to wicked competition for fullback spots in the lower grades for the next 2 or 3 years. Rumble, Borg, Kirk and now Blade Marduart and Zailen Campbell-Cook.

Is that little fullback still around? Another with a hyphenated last name. Tyler Pekham-Harris or something like that. If he put on a growth spurt, he might be the best of the lot. But has to grow at least another 10cm in his teen years. Probably unlikely.

Don't think any will..
The talent coming through now Jesey Flegg and KOE cup.
None of the SG Ball squad will make it into first grade next year because of the number of promising young players in NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg? Well that's certainly good news even though it would be good for a SG Ball player to have a breakout year.

Are you talking about 2024 SGBall squad or the 2025 SGBall squad, i can't see anyone from 2025 squad making it to the NRL , we have all these other youngsters who are in front of them, also LKT was only picked due to a necessity not because he demanded to be picked due to form.
