The question for me is will Heidke move into cup in 2025 though.. 2026 is a given.. I reckon we will want to be giving him a contract soon.. hes like a beacon of light in the flegg side and we have no other outside backs bar Buchanan within ~2-3yrs of first grade.. maybe a T&T deal, I think BRumble is on one now.. but I reckon you could swap him out tomorrow.. just depends if they r rdy to give up on Ben yet... age wise Aitken was in 1st grade @19, seems some synergy there, but Heidke has a lot more pace/skill than Aitken did.. he was more like Timmo perhaps, tough young thing.

Been saying it since the first few rounds of SG ball, I just think his body shape and style translates to first grade more than Hayden’s does. It’s very hard to overcome the size matchup IMO.
Matt Timoko is probably the smallest centre in the NRL who’s actually very good, but he’s as strong as an OX and breaks tackles for fun. Hayden’s still young and could grow but at this moment I’d say Heidke is the favorite of the 2 to have a long NRL career

We have a lot of junior reps throughout the teams I will just recap games that have better players in.
Patties Blacktown 54-6 over Matraville.
Absolute master class by Jasais Ah Kee was involved in everything.
The club agents were linning up to speak to his agent afterwards.

Erindale 42-10 over Illawarra SH
After a rough first half the boys held their own in the second half 10 all.
Mason Andrews with big minutes a standout and Jack Talbott in the backs.
This side is mainly a year younger with Halangahu 2 years younger.
Missing Burton, Chapman and Amone all rep duties and Noah Fitzgerald this side will only get better as year goes on.
They could well give the comp a good shake next year

I assumed Borg was injured.. I dont think hes a future first grader, but I dont think Pring is either.. but I guess he is the encumbant... feels like a long wait for Burton to come through..

Your right, burton in all likelihood won’t be ready til he’s at least 20-21 YO and Sloan won’t be here after 2026 IMO
There’s always a shitload of talented fullbacks kicking around though waiting for an opportunity so it’s not a worry
Just look at what the eels have done with Iongi and Raiders with Weekes
Then there’s guys like Connor Votano/Chevy Stewart who can’t get a start with the guys ahead of them

Is he more of a ball player or ball runner? Or a good mix for a 5/8? Just thinking of Dylan Brown. Without Moses leading the team around, he's rubbish. With Moses leading the team around, I still think he's a bit overrated but still pretty good.

I was writing about this elsewhere, the reason we probably couldnt/cant sign one of those other young fullbacks was Sloan being here on a 500k season.. hes the backup fullback and first grade first choice winger.. or has been.. and hes still here for 2026 currently.. so I still dont know if we will be able to pull in a young gun.. but I think we need a plan b for gutho as 2026 and 2027 roll around.. at this point though its still Sloan.. Im waiting for the coach to flick that switch and change his mind on that... perhaps send him to reggies.. but there hasnt been a lot of fit players available to take his wing spot.. Lawson I think is the man being primed.
