We need to live with the prospect of losing all 'three amigos' if Hunt is extended, as I see Amone joining the other two in sympathy. The three have played together since H Matts Cup and know each others play intimately. Griffin has to start to see sense and move the skipper to hooker, Sullivan half and Sloan fullback pronto to start next season.

He won't be moving Hunt to hooker next year. As much as it makes sense, Hook won't do it. The club has recruited who would have been Tigers 3rd choice hooker to cover for Hooks favourite superstar hooker, Andrew McCullough.

I was going to start a thread "our team in three years time". But this R/R player mess over who is staying and who is leaving, makes that difficult.

Another snippet Dragons have tabled a higher offer for Hunt to stay, Hunt will decide after the Dally M indicating to me that his manager is secretly testing the market. If Hunt stays the Dragons have approached Sullivan who is off contract at end of 23 to stay and be understudy to Hunt claiming that he would develop and benefit learning from Hunt. Sullivan is undecided, he may also join Sloan asking for a release. It also appears that the Dragons are making enquiries to take David Fifita off the Titans hands as Fifita is romantically linked to our NRLW backrower Shaylee Bent. It is also being mentioned that the Dragons are looking at a Qld Cup hooker, Haele Finou who has been in the Storms feeder club up here to further bolster our stocks in that position, if true Muhleisen may be another looking elsewhere as well. Interesting months ahead.

This is some progress in looking after at least one junior, but why isnt the same courtesy being offered to the more skillful Tyrell Sloan. Thinking there is no love lost between the kid and our oh so awful coach. He makes Mary look like a super coach!!:(

I am seething over the crap coming out of FO. Upping Hunt's original offer. C,mon this bloke is not the coming Messiah, he is a good half back and hooker. Nothing more. Remember Albert you played your entire career wearing the RedV. Your Dragons spirit has been eroded by self interest and nepotism? :mad:

It now looks crystal clear that this club is not looking to the future only the present by willfully jettisoning our best juniors. Sack the entire Board, Griffin and Doust. You Young fall on your sword as you can not run a footy club. Remember Albert you played your entire career wearing the RedV. Now seems your Dragons spirit has been eroded by self interest and nepotism? :mad:

St George Illawarra chairman Craig Young believes young gun Jayden Sullivan would benefit from the retention of Ben Hunt after personally pitching to the club captain during the week.
We haven’t received any request from Sullivan for a release,” Young said. “It’s a good opportunity for Sullivan, if Ben re-signs, to learn from him.

“Sometimes young players need to be patient – they end up getting a better outcome in the long term, have longer careers.

“If you’re patient, get the work ethic right and all of that stuff, you want to hang around for along time, not a short time. Sometimes young players want it all too quick and that’s all part of man management.”

Anyone who believes that Young will step in are sorely mistaken.

Craig Young and Griffin don't mess around. When they say the club needs more depth for hookers. If this turns out to be true we have:
  • McCullough
  • Liddle
  • Sullivan
  • Muhleisen
  • Mbye
  • Haele Finou
  • Hooper
  • Purcell
I'm still waiting for them to bring Mitch Rein home.
