That went down like a lead balloon. I just meant, the Dragons aren't the only team which often pays overs for big name players.

Apart from Hunt and the Tigers superstar duo, isn't there anyone else the Dragons are chasing? If not, 4 or 5 Flegg players from this year must be in line for a call up into the top 30. Coric is definitely one. Be interesting to see who the other 3 or 4 are.

I was not all that fussed about us looking at Panther's prop Spencer Lenui until I saw his line smashing run on Sunday before he was stopped in his tracks by that shocker stiff arm from the Rabbits winger. They was some post contact metres he made.

All has gone quiet reading Musgrove. At least, I haven't heard anything other than initial rumour. Things have gone quiet with Ben Hunt as well. I think if Ben Hunt isn't on his way out, he's at least decided to test his value on the market. I just hope if he's not re-signed, Sullivan is extended for at least 3 years. And if during that time he becomes a star, the club doesn't massively upgrade his contract. I don't mean he should be on a low wage but nothing like 1mil a year.

Me too. Good player but we've had very little success with him and now he's 32, finishing his correct contract when he's 33. Need to go in a different direction IMO. He still might be really good for another couple of years. Good luck to him but Dragons have to put their faith in a new generation of playmakers.

Nice idea but IMO it's not realistic. If he excels and becomes a 1 mil a year playmaker, he probably won't play for 700k. Even of he does, there will be no chance in hell of re-signing him. He'll naturally be pissed about playing for unders for 3 years.
That's why I wouldn't be particularly disappointed if Hunt re-signs for 700~750k. It will mean Sullivan is gone but 700~750k is a bargain for another 2 years for a halfback of Hunt's caliber.
Though I know the lack of success we've had with him is concerning.

Well in that case, offering Hunt, lets say 725K and not budging is the way to go. Everyone should remember we are talking about 2024, not next season.

So the fact the club has both signed for at least next season can only be a good thing. So far they have secured the services of Jacob Liddle and that's it. Must be a big singing or two on the way.

I just wish they would get it over with. Put a deadline on Hunt signing very soon or tell him the club is moving forward with Sullivan from 2024.

He's might have already told the club he's going to test his value on the market. Which means he'll probably be leaving. I know no other clubs are supposed to have talked to him but they almost certainly have.
