I expect Leniu's price has risen since Panthers made the GF and may rise further if they win on Sunday. But his line busting 70m run against the Bunnies must've convinced Flanno that he is our man.
70m runs are welcome but more than that, need him to consistently run for 150m a game.I expect Leniu's price has risen since Panthers made the GF and may rise further if they win on Sunday. But his line busting 70m run against the Bunnies must've convinced Flanno that he is our man.
Only Tapine and Haas ran 150M this season. I'll settle for 135 with plenty of offloads.need him to consistently run for 150m a game.
That'll do.Only Tapine and Haas ran 150M this season. I'll settle for 135 with plenty of offloads.
You andWhose word do you believe? I haven't heard anyone say the Dragons have salary cap issues.
Who admitted and when? You andRedVHeartbeat have been misled but to each their own. We admitted to being the only club this season to put into place a salary cap freeze. This then impeded the clubs ability to play players not in the top 21. Check it out yourself, that is because we were unable to pay those players bonus payments as per their individual contracts. Easily verified see how many players not in our starting 17 played more than 9 games in 1sts. I understand that was the freshhold to trigger those payments. I originally thought it was 6 games and above.
Seriously? The club put out a statement that there was a salary cap freeze in July which was reported in D.T. Stating in part that they would have to reduce the salaries of a number of players so they could recruit players. Hence no signing for 23 apart from the high flyer Liddle from the highly successful Tigers. Common sense dictates that is what happened this season and will continue in 23 and 24 when the contracts of Lomax, Sullivan and Amone to name a few will increase significantly.Who admitted and when?
I searched and saw a rumour in the DT but no statement or even comment from the club.Seriously? The club put out a statement that there was a salary cap freeze in July which was reported in D.T. Jackson Ford has nothing to do with the cap. The CEO said around a week ago, "we have money to spend".Jackson Ford is now a Warrior. There is just no room to move under the current salary cap even for Hunt. It's a bloody mess.
Then why is it a fact that we can't sign anyone? If we have so much money?I searched and saw a rumour in the DT but no statement or even comment from the club.

There is no such thing as a top 21 so that's that. You andRedVHeartbeat have been misled but to each their own. We admitted to being the only club this season to put into place a salary cap freeze. Just reporting what the CEO said only about a week ago. Then why is it a fact that we can't sign anyone? If we have so much money?
Obviously you dont have first hand experience in how football clubs actually work. Every player contracted is rated, currently its 1 to 30, this wasn't the case in my time. 1-17 in essence is your 1st grade squad, 18 - 21 are rated highly enough to fill in , in case of injuries or suspensions. 22 - 30 although contracted would not be selected for 1sts unless under special circumstances. That is the reality of how football clubs work. You are financially renumerated according to your position and rankings. Players 1,6,7,9 are most usually renumerated more highly than other positions in the team nowdays. There are exceptions to this rule, such as a club cpt or a highly rated player known to be a game breaker. Just my views. There is no such thing as a top 21 so that's that.
I'm not having a go at you, as I did say I don't believe what the current senior management of the club are saying. I just base this on my own previous experience albeit not at NRL level.Just reporting what the CEO said only about a week ago.
I admit I was not aware of how the Top 30 works. Would help us if someone gave us a list of our top 30 players. So much vital info seems denied us supporters. That's true. I should have been more specific. There might be a Top 21 in the eyes of the coach or whoever (but doubtful. It would take a very stubborn coach) but there isn't as far as contracts to play in first grade registered with the NRL.Obviously you dont have first hand experience in how football clubs actually work. This should be the top 30 minus Alvaro but plus players on development contracts.I admit I was not aware of how the Top 30 works. Would help us if someone gave us a list of our top 30 players. So much vital info seems denied us supporters. What is DT?

Betting more and more supporters are beginning to hate this bloke. Yet we look like being stuck with him for.. one yr I could except.. two more is too much. $700K acceptable $900K unacceptable. We have been denied a decent prop or edge forward because of his greed. If Hunt had the clubs best interests at heart he'd have accepted the lesser offer. If FO had any balls they'd had told Hunt take what we first offered you as the kitty is empty. He did not so as a long term Dragons diehard I call him an egostistical greedy arsehole with not one iota of true RedV character.Hunt
If this is true, I am but I absolutely didn't until now. I shouldn't hate him. He's only taking advantage of the idiots who are offering 900k to a guy who has never won any major awards or a premiership and who will be 34 at the time the new contract starts. It's incomprehensible! He's a good player. Worth 750k max for the 2 years after next year.?
