Jack De Belin extends at Dragons on big-money deal

Takes up his option to stay at the Dragons on much more money than he would command on the open market

He will take up the contract worth about $700,000 – much more than he would now get on the open market. De Belin had minor off season shoulder surgery but the operation is not expected to restrict his pre-season training for too long. The 31-year-old played 24 games for the Dragons this year but has struggled to recapture the form which saw him picked for the Blues in 2018.

I think these people don't even watch Dragons games. If de Belin wasn't in the team, would have likely "won" the spoon this year.

I think the coach gave him directions to largely put his offload away. If it weren't for that, we could possibly say he was in career best form last season.

Well you guys your wish has been answered with Craig Young falling on his sword. Not only does he lose the chairmanship, which btw he was to relinquish this month in any case, he will no longer be part of the club BOD. His crime, backing the character of a long time mate " before he went off the rails" (similar to his own words). At no time did he condone the filth Finch has been arrested and charged with. Albert leaves with his integrity in tact.
I beg to differ being an old walloper like myself he knew that by using a letterhead with the Dragons logo on it would give the reference more weight. He knows that he should not have misused the Dragons brand, he knows better and knew exactly what he was doing in using the letterhead without the clubs permission.

Welcome home. You think the Dragons are heading for the spoon next year?

Crap JDB is worth ever cent of that. What do scribes know. Do they play with Jack and see what a contribution he makes every single week for our RedV. I can tell you had he been our lock in this world cup we'd not have missed half the tackles we have as he'd have inspired the others to hit low and often not grab players and try to hold them. Extending Jack is the one good piece of news coming from our R & R.

Do I have this correct. The difference between a Train and Trial player to a Development Contract is that the former is not guaranteed a job, so there is a great deal of uncertainty about their future with the RedV.
The following are our next T & T group. The Couchman brothers, Zach Herring, Haele Finau, Jacob Webster, Dylan Egan, Aaron Johnson, Daniel Russell, Alex Lobb, and Treigh Stewart. Four of those players are props. None of Sam Hooper, Declan Purcell, or Braxton Wallace among them. And where is Connor Muhleisen?

So who are to be our '23 Development Contractees and out Top 30. Zilch news on our website. But there is news on a new BOD member plus our new Ressie and Flegg coaches.. big deal.

It seems every club but St George makes it public. For some reason it's "top secret" for the Dragons.
Prop recruit Nick Lui-Toso will be one of our Top 30. He has been playing for the Panthers Qld feeder club. Not all doom and gloom as is harder to get a gig in the Panthers pack than most other clubs. Is a big unit at 110k, powerful and is known as 'rhino'. May be the big bopper enforcer we need in the engine room as Molo certainly failed that role last year. Some footage below.

I like his post contact impact. Dont see any ball skills tho.

It is too much to ask for that we sign someone who is actually wanted by his current club???

What is going on with the salary cap? Even the media talks about how Lomax and JDB, on around 700~750k are the Dragons highest paid players after Hunt. That money isn't big at all for 2 of the 3 highest paid players.

Macca is on about 500k. All these hardly first grade standard players are probably on massive overs.
