UPDATE - Triple M have said that Su’a will join the Dolphins after the Dragons granted a release today.

Spineless lot in our Front Office!!! Backing a useless coach because they dont wanna lose face.
Still losing S'ua is better than having a player just going thru the motions. Whose next. Blake Lawrie, Zac Lomax?
Good point. I think this coach has the whole team but Hunt just "go thru the motions". Partly because coach wants Hunt to do everything himself and it pisses off others in the team. I don't know that's true but just the feeling i get.

IMO you are too negative.
No not negative. Realistic and hurting badly. You would be too if you have followed the Dragons as long as I. My username says it all.
"A change of coach will fix this situation very quickly. At least I hope so"
You too are not so sure as to our future. We have not been all that lucky with coaches past two decades. Bennett the exception.

Cheer up. The off season is upon us. Time for you to teach us the finer point about cricket and look forward to see if or when Hook is hooked and most importantly, who are the young players coming through to join the top 30 or go on development deals.

I can see how this whole saga will play out. Hunt will accept the extra two years as a result Griffin will be kept and then extended as the two are joined at the hip. Then likely we will lose Sullivan if not two of the 'three amigos'. Perhaps all three. They will import a has been/reject hooker which will see one or two of our promising hookers depart for greener pastures. Our only chance for a decent coach Shane Flanagan will think he is not wanted and also head off. In steps Dean Young at the behest of his old man to be Griffin's assistant. All are happy , except us fans. I can see our most vocal camping outside the Taj Mahal with placards decrying the state of things.. ala the Doust years.
I hope to hell I just wrote a whole lot of fantasy.

The eternal optimist.

Sure I am ready to convert you all to cricket. I love footy but cricket is my real passion.

The issue here is that other aspiring players see what is happening and there is no way anyone will be knocking on the door to join our once proud and feared club. I clearly indicated using my own experiences that Griffin had lost the dressing room sometime ago. The next to leave the club will be Lawrie mark my words. Su'A has been one of our best no matter what any of you think. His stats indicate that he avg 25 tackles a game, misses 2.8 a game, avg 2.8 tackle breaks, avg 14 runs a game, has avg 123.5m a game and avg 50m post contact . He has seen the writing on the wall that we will finish closer to last next season, to whichI begrudgingly agree with. He and Lawrie were vocal in recent months against Griffin and quite rightly so in my view. There is no coming back from this issue that has now divided our team and club. Dark days ahead for the next 2 seasons at least unless something drastically changes in the off season

Su'a is just the beginning, we were building our edge forwards around him now we are not.

I think sacking Griffin will be a quick fix to a lot of these problems but I guess that will come too late to keep Su'a. As for Su'a, you don't think it's merely about Dolphins offering him more money?

He was contracted to us until the end of 2024 for 3 seasons he was going to collect $1.8m. No it's got very little to do with money. It has more to do with his role within the club and team. I was reliably informed that there was a disagreement between himself and Griffin and as a result he was going to seek a release, there will be others. I heard Lawrie as well. Time will tell.

So sacking Griffin is key.

He's a good player on very good money. It comes down to value for money. In that respect, not sure he's a really big loss. Key is his replacement. Who will it be?

Stats dont lie. My view as well. He has been one of our best. We simply cant afford to lose him if we are unable to bring any outside forward impact to the club and are loathe to blood some of our Flegg boys.

I posted same in some detail this morning. Seems Griffin is a hard man to get along with. He evidently dislikes any assistance, his two coaches are now out of a job and he has put a growing dressing room offside. I too heard that Blake Lawrie was another unhappy player. If he has played four yrs first grade then he is yet to taste finals euphoria. Any wonder he wants to leave... and there are others if the rumors are to be believed.

Believe those rumours we are a club in crisis and someone needs to stand up in senior management
