As I said it's just Train and Trial list not a contract list.
90% of those players would of been released end of pre season.

Webster is a local junior in our Flegg side.
Again only 2 of those players LKT, LPT are still on T&T contracts.
Lui, Webster ended new years
The rest ended pre season.
The same happens at every club.

Dead set we want someone with more impact than this guy. With his measly carries and rms he dont look like the enforcer that we lack. To me, more like someone without heart and we have our fair share of those now.

$4.5m in the war chest and all we can snare from outside are rejects and has beens. Internally only previous failures or those seen by our short sighted coaching staff as still good players, while the true good players dont get a look in!!!

Flanno doesn't have the pull or attraction of other coaches like Ciraldo, Benji, Des etc. Even Cook didn't want to leave souths until he got a godfather offer from us. Players don't know much about flanno and don't give a shit about his premiership either.

Build from the juniors up, long term planning is needed.

Flanno met with Matt Lodge. Is there a journeyman forward in the competition Flanno doesn't want to recruit? Saifiti is well past his best. Lodge is hated by his teammates wherever he goes and is never re-signed if not let go early and also well past his best!

Is that why signing up Flanno was considered controversial and why he is running around only signing journeyman no other club wants? Means this is true⬇️.

Why would he be even be talking to Lodge? Is Lodge playing for the Manly feeder club now? Does Flanno see him as a good mentor? He might have a point there. If he pulls the young players aside and says, "Whatever Matt does, don't do that."

I'm unsure of our club but recruitment is done via a panel/collective group acceptance at some of the highly ranked clubs like the Storm. I'm hoping it's the same for the dragons & Flanno doesn't have all the power. He should rightly have a significant influence since he's the coach but it should be 100% up to him.

It was by committee and Flanno still doesn't have 100% say but I think Flanno has much more say than McGregor had.

Neither are any good anymore. Both were good though Lodge wasn't good enough to make his personality problems worth putting up with. Seems that way anyway. How many clubs has he been at?

I agree but we take for some reason other clubs unwanted players so if I had to pick between the two it would be Saifiti. Hope we sign neither but we have a history of picking up the discards of others

Bottom line is, no established good players want to play for Flanno. Already got too many veterans. Need to go with youth from now. No Saifiti and most certainly no Lodge. And FFS, pick Ryan C Flanno l, you dumb f*ck.

Ryles is trying to free up some salary cap space at the Eels. Probably having trouble making a good offer to Talangi. Looking to get rid of Sivo, RCG and Ryan Matterson.
These 3 are likely on Flanno's radar. Lets take a quick look at their qualities.
  • Sivo is a big, slow winger who has been in NSW Cup for most of the year. Flanno adores these kind of players!
  • RCG was a good prop but is well and truly at the end of his career. Perfect for Flanno to pick up!
  • Matterson is a 5/8 trapped in a forwards body. Mostly on the bench behind superstars like Bryce Cartwright but also a lot of time in NSW Cup. This is the third club which didn't want him. Forwards no other clubs want are first grade captaincy material for Flanno!

o I dont think anyone will pick up Sivo (bar the UK), rly hope they cant offload him cause itll cause real drama in fitting Blaize and Lomax into the backline. Flanno wont be interested, hes been burnt by Ravalawa.. and he has CTui who is another forward on the wing.

o RCG is the interesting one.. he would really help us for this next 2yr period.. not sure if they are genuinely trying to offload him though, he is important to them... def keen though if its true.

o Penisini is the one they are rumoured to be trying to move on, which a bit like Sivo really helps them.. I dont rly know much about him but I dont want to help the Eels out, id much rather Blaize who I think would end up being a longterm spine member for us.

We should also be targeting a quality outside back for next year. It's a light on area imo. Just a Mug Fan Just a Mug Fan thoughts?

Hope we get Blaize but regardless need NRL level depth in that position.

I've read people want Rava out but that seems ridiculous considering he was our top try scorer last year & fills a need in an area lacking depth. I also assume he'd be on a team friendly contract considering his output.
