Corey seems to polarise fans, but with the raiders paying freight... and you'd back flanno to get him back to last years origin form, a 109kg fiery animal could be a game-changer.

I dont rly care which one he signs, I just want a quality big body for 2025.

If we miss out on Saifiti and he's costing very little, an experienced ex Origin player might be ok even if only a depth signing.

I mean Corey is only 26yrs old and played origin 12mths ago, he should be coming into his prime if Flanno can get in that head of his and focus him... the risk is if he cant control his emotions and gives away penalties... hes not the big dog AFB/NAS/JWH type prop.. but hes going to do the tough stuff and probably give our boys confidence.

I dunno which prop we will get (if any).. but if we can land a couple with all our extra cash.. maybe we can start to phase out a couple of the 'mid' performers next year.

TBH, I agree he's not the big dog type prop or anything but a fringe first grader as far as I can see. I know he played Origin but so did Corey Allen. Especially QLD who don't have as much depth end up selecting fringe first graders from teams that are going really well. He's another Blocka as far as I can see. A bit more aggressive but a bit less hard working. Not a strong defender, not so big for a prop, not a hard worker, slow leg speed. Should keep Blocka or upgrade Coric or Alec T.

Of course it depends on how much but even on a minimum wage, it means one less spot left open for a junior who is killing in NSW Cup or a really good player from another club in salary cap trouble.

Ai just give whoever we get a chance basically.. flanno has 'squeezed the lemon' as he calls it from the majority of our squad this year and they've performed beyond what i expected anyway.... but I expect them to get better again after a 2nd pre-season together, and in this process a couple have been spat out as not fitting what he's after, thats ok too...

In any case someone made a good point today that they might well have some of these deals done but not announce them till end of season... that actually makes sense with a lot of sides still in finals contention.. I like that narrative =)

There are a number of factors. Is Horsburgh a better buy than Saifiti on 30% less money? Probably. I'm just insulted by the ridiculous little mind games Rickey and the Raiders are playing by putting it out there he is in NSW Cup due to personal issues with Ricky. So they want us to believe it has nothing to do with form so another club will pay more of his existing contract.

One more thing about Horsburgh. Next year Dylan Egan is locked into the top 30 and as we all know, he has red hair. Can you imagine having 2 red heads in the team? Dragons will be the laughing stock of the competition.

Don't be surprised if it's merely a ploy to try and have Dragons or another team pick up all or more of the last year of his Cowboys contract. They must be having some serious salary cap issues with Jason Taumololo on almost 1 mil a year but barely first grade standard. For another 3 years after this!
