Serviceable, not a standout of his game but it’s not necessarily a weakness. High upside player in the opponents 20.heard he is playing well, scoring tries etc, how are he's hitups etc?

I'm getting the feeling we are still having a lot of trouble attracting talent (missing the 8 is such a shame).. I would love to punch up a little and get an actual gun like Hopoate or Koula.. i'm so accustomed to that not being an option (especially given they are in-contract).. so I've gone back to the players that Manly would actually be open to moving on...Paulo can play centre and if desperate can fill in at fullback for a game or two...
Manly have some good backs
Turbo, Hopoate, Koula/Talau, Garrick,Saab, one of them misses out if all fit, then below that you have Paulo, Faulalo, Vega.
Love to take Hopoate or Koula from the first lot and Paulo probably from the other lot.
Gold Coast will surely be looking to let go of Campbell, Brimson or Kini.I think you will find in the offseason outside backs who are on contract will be agitating for releases from other clubs, will have scenarios where there will be 5or6 players trying to fit into 4 spots, this is where we can identify and possibly offer a wing spot or eve a fullback spot to some of these guys, im confident we will bring someone in.
Something has to give eventually, cant keep them all happy.Gold Coast will surely be looking to let go of Campbell, Brimson or Kini.
Timmins demoted from full-time position as Illawarra SG Ball coach, NSW Cup assistant and pathways assistant to the part-time position a Illawarra SG Ball only. I don't know what he was doing wrong but it's good the club is losing all the old boys. Get a bit more professionalism going. It also gives Timmins a chance to work his way back in if he does a good part-time job.
Hertsch gone as Flegg coach, Willie in.
Should point out that the Steelers SG Ball gig is still really important for us.. but i think he is compartmentalising Timmins away from NSW Cup and 1st grade.
Next year Reed & his forwards will all be in their 2nd year of SG Ball.. they should go deep into finals (injuries willing).
Who is Scissors?Although not worded like it Timmo is gone from the club, the SGB coach is a Steelers appointment.
Scissors is the one I think will move through the grades.
Haven't heard anything about him in a while. He's working with the St George juniors, isn't he? So he is partly or mostly responsible for recruiting Halangahu, LPT, Latu and others?Thoughts on Kyle Stanley progressing through the recruitment ranks at our club? He's found some absolutely gun juniors & especially the younger polynesian boys seem to have a strong bond with him.
Now there is no doubt.Genesis 1:3-25 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
Finally, somebody has pulled back the block out curtains that has been surrounding and protecting our inefficient and ineffective board and their chosen employees. This is the actual club rebuilding and initiating cultural change. This is what I have been consistently saying and looking for since BBQ Gate affair. We had a toxic culture and poor discipline, nobody wanted to come and play for the most famous RL club in history.
Since 2018 all we really have done in building terms was to refurbish the existing top floors of our structure and we have all seen the disastrous results.
Sometimes you can't save an existing structure, even those that are rich in history and heritage as our club is, you need to knock it down and rebuild from the foundations up being careful to retain those elements that made us once the most feared club in the sport.
This is how you retain and recruit by showing those both inside and external to the club that mediocrity is no longer acceptable . If successful I look forward to the 2027 GF, the Dragons v whoever.
Who is behind the blood-letting? I'm thinking Flanno doesn't have the authority to get rid of Haran.Flanno continuing his clean out.
Hertsch gone as Flegg coach, Willie in.
Flanno in talks with Manly coaching staff for Cup coach.
Haran gone.
Now we need a couple of board members to go and behold a new era will beginWho is behind the blood-letting? I'm thinking Flanno doesn't have the authority to get rid of Haran.
Might mean one side, St George or WIN corp, has gotten the upper hand in the power struggle. I think Haran was a WIN appointee and Timmins is obviously from Illawarra.Who is behind the blood-letting? I'm thinking Flanno doesn't have the authority to get rid of Haran.
Well said!Haran has needed to go for a long time.. he would be have been named and shamed when Gould told them what needed to change.. one of the rumours was Ryles demanded Haran to be gone from GM as part of his sign on.. but the bloke turned up to greet him on the day he was there to sign his contract.
Flanno knows all this, but now hes had 12mths to see for himself.. not just take the word of others... plus hes had a strong season and the club can see away from footy that he knows what hes talking about.... he couldnt get rid of Haran for 2024.. but Haran has been effectively demoted to running the water bottles this year, but next year should be gone.. and hopefully we can get someone decent, let Flanno focus more on the footy side.
The club needed an experienced head to lead them and get their buy-in, theyve been floundering since 2011.. yes we need probably 2 board members gone, but these are all great staff changes coming in.. but it takes time though for the new staff to come in and make their mark.. but this 12mths has been well beyond my expectations for what Flanno would be able to do for a club in such dire straights.
