The issues with Fifita are a lack of tank
He needs a good coach to push him, make him more hungry. I have seen him power thru the line and hit hard in defense, trouble is he wont do it repeatedly. Jodragon agrees with me that he has potential so if he can be coached better he will be an asset going forward. He also needs to cut the silly mistakes from his play.

Yeah but I think some players inherently don't have the ability to play a long time. No matter how much they train. Frank Molo is one of them. He looks like a ball of muscle while Blocka looks fat but I'd bet in a 5km run, Blocka would win.

Since I first laced up the boots until I retired as a coach I have seen countless " the next big thing" players come and go. A great deal depends on the individual player, is he happy to pull on a 1st jersey once or does he have that mental toughness, that passion, that desire, that will to turn up week in week out, get hurt, have a shocker of a game be selfish or be that team player. All we can do as a coach and as a club is give him the opportunity and guide him. In the end it's up to him. I was impressed with this kid I hope he can take that last step.

mental toughness,
Yeh you cant teach that, same as vision. But I think the kid has the passion from what I saw of the family do when he was named in top grade. He came across as a unassuming guy but he was also touched by the occasion. Not sure how that translates to desire but he looked happy and proud when handed his Red V jumper.

Tyran I mean. Haven’t heard that first name before. It is Irish, I think. But anyway, he is on 350 K at Melbourne, so we might get him on an upgrade for next year. Piss the sook to Queensland and seal the boarders !

St George Illawarra captain Ben Hunt was one of several players who was told his performances during the final month of the season weren’t up to the standard expected as part of a scathing end-of-season review.
Hunt, who just 12 months ago sought a release but was convinced to stay and be part of Shane Flanagan’s Dragons rebuild, was recently told a proposed contract extension would also be taken off the table for the moment.

I think what we are saying is that we are open to trades.. but Hunt is not welcome to go out and negotiate his own deal.. its got to be in the interest of the club.

Shame we couldnt have had the RCG deal done.. would have given us the base for 2025.. now we have lots of loose ends to tie up at the same time.

Oh was it David Fifita u guys were talking about (woops), they mentioned the comparison to Dave Taylor on the radio, and that Fifita is on the outer at Titans, but tbh I dont think hes someone id want to trade for.. we need a middle and a half urgently.

I see a lot of synergy between Halangahu and Fifita/Taylor, I know its early days, but I am super curious where he ends up.. middle or 2nd row..

Fifita is a bit overrated but still worth getting for the right price. He's lazy but he's a game breaker.

I do not think Hunt will leave. Flanno would want a player swap of some kind. But Rorters might want him as Williams and Smith will likely be out until the middle of next year. RCG’s asking price was too high and he is too old. Be interesting to see who will meet his asking price and offer him the three year deal he wants.

Wouldn't surprise me if RCG comes back to Flanno and says something like "it was all a misunderstanding between my fool manager and me."

Hunt might be able to be exchanged for a very good young halfback yet to play first grade.
