i am not hating Suli this season so far - and also expect he will be in the bears sights ...
If Bucky plays well tomorrow i could cope with a 3/4 line of Holmes (lw) bucky (lc) suli (rc) sami (rw) very easily.

That's not too bad actually. But Holmes with his skills would probably be wasted a bit on the wing.

I get that .. do those skills include no look lomax flick passes to a wingers feet when we have a 1 man overlap?
He does have skills no doubt, his skill at wing though may be better for us than the likes of Tui/Tu.

Hannay won't even pick him for the Gold Coast. That is how highly Hannay rates him.
And why sign him for 3 years? What is wrong with our recruitment team? Why did Anderson and Watsford rubber stamp the deal? Both of them should have said, no way to 3 years. Are we that desperate? I consider this up there with signing Lawrie for 3 years on a reported 600K a year or even more.

The original Supecoach Jack Gibson said the best coach is the best recruiter. Flanno isn't looking good now. His recruitment was much better at Cronulla. Is it because that is all he can get or is that who he really wanted?
The 10 day cooling off period doesn't give the club a chance to change their mind, does it?
Ryles didn't want Gutho. I don't think there were any other clubs interested in signing Gutho. We did Parra a favor taking him off their salary cap.
Manly were happy to let Suli go. He didn't even want to come to us. I didn't hear of any other clubs wanting him.
Nth Qld were happy to let Holmes leave with a year left on his contract.
I didn't hear of any other clubs wanting Sami either.
They are basically all offcuts

Not quite true. He had coached first grade before he took the Titans job. He coached Cronulla for most of 2019.
They are 0-3 and have played quite poorly so far. I think they have been the worst team in the comp this year. That said, he's 3 games into his tenure. This is different to being, say, 3 seasons in.

It's not the worst signing if he's not on much money but from next year, get rid of the entire backline except for Holmes and possibly Atkinson depending on how 5/8s in the lower grades are going. Get a new coach as well but it looks like that might happen sooner than next year. As a matter of fact, lose today and that might force the CEOs hand.

That trio as good as they are, or were but still have experience which is golden, they have been unable to bring us a top 8 spot. Gutho is now too slow for the custodian role and Cook likewise at hooker.
Who is Sami replacing, hopefully Suli or the draft horse CT, as despite his age he is a speedster and has origin cred. But what does not escape any of us, is he is yet another reject which is about all Flanagan can lure.

Well I sit here in wonder. I wonder if our recruitment team were on the piss over lunch signing a 28 year old from a club that has failed to reach any heights in the last 5 years.
So Sami who is 28 yrs of age 29 by the time he pulls on the jersey and has been described in the media as a veteran winger.
Then over lunchtime dessert when everyone is feeling more tipsy lets sweeten the dessert and give him 3 years.
It is obviously a depth position signing and he can score a try but what are we thinking? I would have thought we need to look for speed and a younger player.

I acknowledge a few of these mentioned players are no longer available. It would appear to me that our club still has a stigma attached to it as does the coach.
My information provided to me by a very reputable person in the RL community tells me that there are still a number of player managers who will not deal with our coach because of what went down behind the scenes some 12 yrs ago now.
