Round 12 v Canterbury Bulldogs

This is the only link I can find for Dragons stats per game. Trouble is it is not for the '22 season. It has Gerard Beale listed.. so no stats on our new recruits. Go figure.
Look at zerotackle.com.au it is usually 1 week behind for yearly stats I've been using it for many years

9. ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

Last week’s ranking: 10th (up one spot)
The Dragons showed everything that has been good and bad about their season to date in a scrappy 34-24 win over the lowly Bulldogs. Ben Hunt continued his strong form, while Cody Ramsey was again solid at fullback against the man he replaced at the Dragons in Matt Dufty. However, after leading 16-2 this was a game they should have gone on with and they are still searching for that clinical performance and a killer instinct to match the top sides consistently.

That's from Fox. I think they are being way too kind. Dragons beat the likely wooden spooners but the game was in the balance until the last 5min.

Thanks. Have already taken a look here. I was looking for stats per game same as Fox lists. Like I say they are a year or two behind so unable to guage form from stats of our new blokes..

Sorry no earlier reply as I had NBN probs yesterday with internet down until late evening.
Zero Tackle would be great if it weren't for that video they really want people to watch. On every page one visits in the site, it automatically pops up. Users have no choice.

NBN picked a good time. The bye weekend is so boring!

So at the halfway mark of the season the stats indicate that Moses Suli which some on here questioned about his purchase leads the way on all run metres being 1855m places him in 5th of all outstanding in an ordinary team. No surprise to me most tackles made JDB 401 ave 33 odd places him 18th but the most damaging stat is the missed tackles unfortunately for us we are highly rated here with Hunt 1st, Bird 7th Lawrie 12th Amone 20th and Mbye 21st and therein lies our major weakness but we have been improving albeit against poor opposition.

I'll put my hand up regarding Suli. Though it was always mainly not because I didn't rate Suli but because I rated and still rte the Feagai's highly. I still haven't seen last weeks game though it seems he (Feagai) is doing the same thing which is holding him back. Not getting in and running enough because he is really effective when he does it.

Our backs have been our shining light this season. They need to watch how the Panthers run the ball back when the forwards need a break. There are some sets during the game where the forwards only cart the ball up once or twice. So I agree Feagai needs to become more involved in that area of his game.

I think Sullivan has the ball skills and Amone the running game. Like Cleary and Luai at Penrith. I haven't heard anything about him going to Redcliff. Just putting out the possibility.

Anyway, I guess we are going to see Sullivan get a chance for at least 2 games in the Origin period.
Lets hope he does , Not that sure with Hook and Co ........

I know I and a few others have been saying all season how it's infuriating the way he still seems fixated on his Broncos U20s team from about 15 years ago. Hunt and possibly McGuire are the only ones of them still first grade standard.

Over the Origin period, Sullivan will get a chance to force Hooks hand and drop Macca, play Sullivan at halfback and Hunt as hooker. That is no criticism of Hunt, it's just his versatility is better than Sullivans while both belong in first grade. Having said that, Hook will probably pick Mbye at halfback when Hunt is unavailable.

Fanciful thinking I'm afraid Hunt is our playmaker and just because of that he will not play 9 for us in the foreseeable future

And therein lays the crux of the issue. Sullivan will have to play a few blinders before Hook will even consider moving Hunt.

Hunt can still do what he is doing from 9 , Sullivan in my opinion given the chance would be more creative than Hunt at 7 ...... If you think about it how many close games has Hunt won for us ? ..... Not many , And its not that the team is likely to even make the 8 , so playing Sully at 7 would make sense to me ......

Agree 100%. Hunt is an excellent halfback and hooker. Sullivan I feel may well be an excellent halfback but not such a good hooker.
At best this season barring injuries Sullivan will be a utility player off the bench in my view
I think you are right but that's the problem, in my view.

Honestly Hunt cannot run the plays from 9 he is our playmaker and cpt on a $1m salary and this coach will not move him to allow an unproven youngster in Sullivan to play 7 it just won't happen.
