Amone is coming along nicely. With experience comes confidence and how to read the play and play heads up football he showed maturity beyond his years in positioning himself for that bat back that led to our 1st try. The stats from yesterday show he ran 13 times for 78m 21 post contact mtrs made 6 tackle busts, 1 line break, 110 kick mtrs so is taking on the line more which I was hoping to see in those conditions. Hunt 10 runs, 51m, 9m post contact, 416m in kicks which was what we needed. The issue with our halves pairing is their defensive inability Hunt 17 4 missed Amone 14 3 missed so 7 missed tackles, 25% of all our missed tackles. The team missed only 29 tackles our lowest all season a far cry from 50 a week only a month ago. So there are positives we are improving in defence which we badly need to.
Those stats from Zero Tackle? Please drop me a link for the week to week stats as still going off the old Fox ones .

He's the Dragons best prop and lock. Definitely in better form than McClean and Saifiti.
Agree he is our best forward, I would pick him first in any pack but most definitely doesn't have the go forward as many other props, so far this season he is avg about 99m not enough for a prop forward, certainly good enough for a lock. I would never pick him as a prop in my team wasting his talent but due to our failure to purchase a decent prop in the last 2 yrs Griffin has very little choice.

Definitely a better lock but as the Dragons are so poor for props, looks like that's where he's stuck for a while.

Agree we would be a competitive top 8 team if either Woods or Burgess would have come good. Woods is still improving but Burgess unfortunately won't be playing 1st grade for us

Anyone without seeing have any rating info? I was at the game and conditions weren't great. Obviously. It's hard without seeing a reply but let me give it a try. 10 is perfect, 0 is useless.
  1. Cody Ramsey - 6/10 Can be forgiven for dropping a few of those bombs but should have let the last one bounce. Or at least turned his body to the side.
  2. Mathew Feagai - 5/10 Quiet again.
  3. Moses Suli - 8/10 Really good in defence and attack.
  4. Zac Lomax - 7/10 Would be an 8 but for that miracle flick pass he tried that was luckily knocked on by Canberra but the odds to it were so low.
  5. Mikaele Ravalawa - 7/10 Ran hard and tackled hard and was pretty heavily involved.
  6. Talatau Amone - 6/10 Would have been a 7 or even 8 of not for that pathetic "attempted" tackle on Hudson Young.
  7. Ben Hunt - 8/10 This is a game where he deserved the 3 Dally M points.
  8. Jack de Belin - 7/10 A model of consistency.
  9. Andrew McCullough - 6/10 not a bad game but slow. Did he play the entire 80min?
  10. Blake Lawrie - 7/10 I haven't seen his stats but his superior stamina showed vs Canberra middle forwards.
  11. Jack Bird - 7/10 Solid game.
  12. Jaydn Su’A - 7/10 Looked dangerous is attack and defended strongly.
  13. Tariq Sims - 7/10 Played well.
  14. Moses Mbye - 4/10 If not for Feagai's injury, was he going to get on the field.
  15. Francis Molo - 6/10 Not bad.
  16. Aaron Woods - 6/10 As above.
  17. Michael Molo - 5/10 I hardly noticed him but obviously didn't mess up.

It was extremely important that under those conditions we matched their forwards our kicking game was great and our completions were above avg and we didn't miss tackles. The stats indicate we ticked off most those boxes and won us a must win game. Stats: Running Mtrs - Dragons 1259 -
Raiders 1329
Post contact mtrs - Dragons 473
Raiders 475
Completions - Dragons 76% Raiders 70%
Missed Tackles- Dragons 29
Raiders 27
Errors- Dragons 10
Raiders 15
Kicking Mtrs - Dragons 678
Raiders 625
4 Forwards - Sua 121m, Lawrie 108m, Sims 103m and JDB 100m reached my required 100m plus and only 2 Raiders forwards managed to reach that. So based on those stats it would have been a shame to lose that game. As for your remarks in relation to Amone nobody would have been able to stop Elliott that close to the line running that angle exactly the same as Suli's try except Suli beat more players and post contact was about 5m out from the tryline. Apart from that and Lomax 2 brain explosion moments, the flick pass and the steal when held had been called giving away a penalty at a vital time our discipline in possession and defence was very good. I was impressed with the effort albeit against a team that won't be playing semi finals football again this season. The next 2 weeks will give us a better indication if we will be.

Ricky Stuart is making quite a noise about the ref performance. I thought the Dragons got lucky with that call right at the end but on at least 2 occasions Canberra got lucky. One when Ramsey tackled the Canberra forward around the shoulders and while it looked spectacular, replays showed it wasn't high. And the Lomax steal which was simultaneous with the held call. The ref had 3 options. Play on, Dragons ball. Give the ball back, play the ball. Penalty. Of course he chose the last of those which was the most unfair.
