Round 18 vs Sydney Roosters

I only saw 22 mins of match play and did not spot him. Just looked at his mins.. 11. Did fine in those mins with two tackle busts, 5 tackles, two offloads. 3 runs for 10ms per run is more than acceptable. How had he been going in Ressies.
I think those offloads, tackle busts and 3 runs were all in the first 5 (about) minutes he was on.

Hard task master. Not his role to steer the team that was Sullivans. Junior looked fine with ball in hand.. threw a clever pass for Ramsay's try, ran well and did his defensive share. Dim Sims lost us that game with his sin binning.
Actually, that's a good point. If we sit back and give it cool thought, he probably wasn't that bad. He definitely ran a few times when he should have passed and vice versa and in the second half he kicked the ball a metre too long, like every second kick. Sullivan did the same every other kick. But a metre here or there, they were perfect kicks.
Maybe it's was Sullivans job to do most of the organizing in attack but it's not as if Amone had no responsibility at all.

Agree with Feagai his involvement is restricted to his sideline plus 20m infield only, needs to do more and get more involved. I knew Moga would get first dibs at Ravs spot he too needs to get involved. I was hoping Amone was gone and Sullivan linked with Hunt if he plays. Good to see JDB back to his specialist lock spot but worried about Molo/Lawrie starting props Molo has dissappointed me so far this season hasn't run for the 100m plus. The Rorters pack looks extremely strong and the bench is very strong watch when JWH comes on. Manu v Amone at 5/8 is a no contest, Manu will run all over him im afraid. McCullough v Verills has me very concerned especially when I believe that Watson will come on to replace Verills at some stage and im afraid McCullough will be tanked by then. The only place we will be able to hold our own will be in the centres. The Rorters will be after revenge for the Anzac Day loss and need the win to jump over us. Unfortunately if we play this week the same as last week we will cop an almighty hiding which I am suggesting is going to happen. The pundits agree with me installing the Rorters at $1.39 favourites to steamroll us.
Rorters are far from a great team but are pretty compared to the Dragons. Angus Crighton running at Jack Bird is a frightening prospect.

Due to how much time Amone has had in first grade, I think he should have helped Sullivan more with game management. Just my opinion.

Well coaches hat on a mtr too long is useless may have well has been 5m too long. Amone wouldn't be in my run on team this week but heck what would I know I had to sit through that game watching it live whilst being ribbed constantly in the 2nd half by ponies supporters who made a point that we couldn't beat their Qld Cup team and they were dead right. We won every major stat in that game and still got flogged. It comes down to poor structure and poor game management in my humble view

I wish I could say that there will be a bounce back but I'd be lying. Not looking forward to this game or the rest of the season if we play like we did last week

Coach won't last the rest of the season if we play anything like last week.

Hmmmm well in regard to the kicking, the point is that he wasn't too far off even though the end result is the same.

As for the rest, you make a good point.

Sometimes in moments of clarity between bouts of drowning his sorrows at the rabble this club has become, jodragon40 jodragon40 makes a lot of sense.

I've been asking him to give one of his famous bakings to coach Griffin for some weeks.
And give one to Jack Bird and Francis Molo as well. Unfortunately Hooks other two "star recruit" front rowers, Woods and Burgess seem to be running on old legs. The game has passed them by. Happens to everyone sooner or later. No use giving them a bake.

Have noticed last few games that he has been getting more involved in the general game management side. But to me that is not his game. Looks far more comfortable when he is utilising his individual skills.

Woods yes. George still has some time left running on his tree stump legs. Not seen much of him in Ressies of late.. how is he traveling?

As far as I know, he's been demoted to the bench. But not as a tactical move. Like Hook starting JDB off the bench. It's because Burgess just wasn't having an impact in the early part of the game. I hear he's way off first grade.

He has been improving, quite rapidly, until last game when he went back to square one.

Big blow for the Sydney Rorters. They have JWH out. Not exactly catastrophic but he's at very least as good as Lawrie and better than other any other Dragons props. Oh but it's ok because they have Lodge to come in, in his place. Dragons could have used Lodge if Hook didn't already spend all the excess cap money on Josh McGuire!

Perhaps unfortunately for us we will see 1st hand what we could have had today.

IMO It has more to do with Griffin being weak, not able control Lodge's difficult personality. Not due to salary cap issues.

Alvaro already left early in the season. Who's taking his money?
