Sounded like it. Ben Hunt is possibly the best #9 in the competition. Sims is an 80min second rower at NRL level.

Well, that sucked. In my humble opinion, the refs let QLD get away with wrestling too much. Late in the game the ref even said it when he awarded a penalty to NSW.

Well that was a pretty ordinary effort by us. I thought the game changed once Grant came on for Hunt. Munster and Cherry Evans had far too much time and it showed. In the forwards battle 2 NSW made the 100m unfortunately 5 Qld also made that requirement. If NSW are to turn it around in Perth the forwards need to lift greatly. Forwards win games and tonight highlighted that fact.

I said during the game. Maybe around 15min to go in the second half:
- Paulo needs to run more and not pass so much.
- Haas needs to stay on longer.

Agree but Grant was the game changer he made Cook look 2nd rate. I would suggest playing the Panthers hooker Korasaui in the 17 next game

That was me but I suggest he not be in the 17 at all. Find a makeshift hooker who can give Korasaui a rest for 10~15min or come on in the forwards if Korasaui doesn't need a rest. How about Jack Gosiewski

Well the stats indicate to me Paulo should be dropped 5 runs for 33m 18 tackles 4 missed tackles very poor. Clearly had his worst game of football in 2 season’s. Sims 24 tackles 5 missed should also go. Hass was outstanding. Cook ordinary should be replaced 14 runs only 96m only 1 tackle busts v Grant 4 tackle busts.

Was Sims bad? I thought he went well. He was very lucky to make it in the team but should be a 80min second rower every day of the week and twice on game day for St George Illawarra. That would allow the coach to choose props with a little more strike power but a little less stamina.
The thing in his favour for continued selection is the dearth of good NSW second rowers. Ryan Matterson was highly ineffective.

Probably right that his time is up. I just don't think he was that bad. Missed tackles are misleading. If one is running around like a man on a mission trying to tackle everything that moves, he's going to miss more but as long as it doesn't lead to a line break or lots of extra run metres, which I don't think it did tonight, it's ok.

I'm not going to rate them all but
- Tariq Sims: I see jodragon is critical of his defence. I didn't notice any bad misses apart from the Cherry Evans thing but there were mitigating circumstances. If Paulo hadn't been held back, no one would have notices Sims chased too hard and was wrong footed. Also busy in attack without making a big impact.
- Ben Hunt: Was really good, one of the best on the ground, in both stints. He's surely the second best hooker in the country.

Hunt went well but after watching the Cowboys contingent last night I have grave fears for us come Friday if they back up, we will get a good touch up. Lawrie again named as a starting prop is nonsensical in my view. Will await eagerly the final 17 make up. Hopefully it will change.
